LQS, 7 blocks away.

I am so jealous!!! The closest Joann's is about 2 and a half hours away. Walmart is an hour away and the lqs is an hour in the other direction.

I have a JoAnn's about 20 minutes from where I live, but I hate the area it's in! Way too much traffic!!! It's right across the road from a large mall, and the store itself is in a large strip mall which is across the road from another large strip mall!!! It's pretty nice, but I miss another one I used to frequent that was about 25-30 minutes away from me. It closed its doors last year.  I liked that JoAnn's much better. :?

About 20 miles. The community I live in only has a couple grocery stores, many pizza places, three fast-food places, numerous bars and auto parts stores. To do any kind of 'real' shopping I have to go about 20 miles, no matter which direction.
|
LQS is about a mile away; Joann's is 20 miles away. There are some Amish quilt shops within ten miles, but you have to go there on a sunny day because they don't have electricity and it is difficult to see the fabrics on a cloudy day.

JoAnn's is 120 miles round trip so with gas prices, I am getting by with my stash/or online.
|
My favorite LQS, which was about 40 minutes away, closed and moved to Ohio.
I still have a very small quilt store about 1/4 mile from me, but I don't go there. I have a Hobby Lobby, Hancock Fabric and a Ben Franklin about 4 miles away that I go to quite often (meaning weekly!) |
I'm very lucky. I can walk to my LQS. OOPS maybe that's not good cause I spend way too much money on fabric. LOL For me it is just as good as JoAnns, Hancocks or any other store. The service is great and they help me so much with shortcuts, ideas and color combinations. Their prices are so much better too.

About a 1/2 mile.....could walk if I just had too. LOL
