That is so funny. It takes all of us in the house to give the cat a pill.

So true! Oddly, it was easier to give the neighbor's cat a shot (insulin) than a pill...

Yeah right, give cat a pill, lose half your fingers. I'm with sewnsewr2, take 'em to the vet and let them deal with it. They're the ones that probably gave you the pills in the first place and then chuckled to themselves as you walked out the door.

Although I have seen my dog (yes, the innocent looking one who's picture is on my bio) spit a pill wrapped in yummy cheese clean across the room.

After surgery I had to give my other dog a pill twice a day for 2 months and it was a constant struggle, he was a feisty rat terrier. Finally in exasperation one day I held out the pill and said "why don't you just take the darn thing and make it easy on both of us" and he did!!!! From then on I just handed it to him and he took it. Go figure.
Of course I always included a treat chaser.

Hold the cat in your arms, tilt it's head back, open it's mouth, drop the pill in, hold it's mouth closed and blow on it's nose. You can stroke the cats throat as well and it will swallow the pill.

My son in law's cat jumped over the stove and his paw went into a pot of boiling water, he had to take antibiotics twice a day while his paw healed. We got to be a pro at getting the pills into him.

My husband would hold the cat down wearing hockey gloves and a welding apron (the kind with leather sleeves).

that is so funny and so true, I had a wild bread cat, took to vet, the vet wanted me to give him pills, the vet is the one that told me that I did not have a domanistic cat, he said you have a wild bread. he wanted me to give bandit his pills, I asked if he had looked at his teeth. they were about 1 1/2 long. pay for surgery to have infection removed. oh my god I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes... I do it the smart way, my friend is a vet tech so I let her do it.

Been there....done that...but it wasn't funny at the time. Reading this had tears rolling down my face from laughing so hard....Thanks!!
