I haven't had to shovel snow in a few years, and this wasn't bad at all compared to some other years we've had, but it helped me get my exercise in anyway. :-D I had to chop it before I could move it. It's crusty and needed to be cleared before it melts and gets impossible. The horses are all in the front and middle pastures for now since it's been so windy. Later I'll go out and widen it a bit so it'll be easy to clean once it fills again.

If I had taller horses..... I'd not get as much of a work out!

Gates needed clearing.

Past the gates on one side. The other wasn't too bad.

I am seriously impressed Karla.

WOW!
So, that's what snow looks like, huh? lol

You just be careful out there shoveling that stuff!

barnbum 02-20-2010 06:30 AM

I never soak in a tub. Actually the 16 gal heated bucket needs changing, so I'll be doing that shortly. I'm having some coffee now. It wasn't so hard because it uses all the same muscles I use when I carry water--18-30 gal a day--from the tub to the barn; those muscles are pretty strong by now.

Here's how it was a last year.

I had to do it many times too.

Wanna arm wrestle?

If I were there, I'd help you.
I stay with the horses and talk to them and tell them that Mom is doing such a good job for them. Then I'd give them tons of hugs and kisses. I'd also cheer you on as to what a great job you are doing. Heck, I'd even make you coffee! lol

Barnbum.. Terri is such a good friend.. she would talk to the horses for you.. LOL o boy she is funny.

That is alot of work and I applaud you!

barnbum 02-20-2010 06:40 AM

Terri-- You're so funny. That's be nice though. That's why I post the pictures--so you can do most of that right here.

Tucker is doing okay from his becoming a gelding procedure...it wasn't fun. Not at all. For him...for me... for the vet..for the vet tech. I'm glad it won't happen here any more.

Hey, what are friends for, right?
Someone has to explain to the horses what is going on. There also has to be someone there watching to make sure she doesn't miss any spots. One can't do that when they are shoveling, so I will do that awful job of having to stand there and supervise. lol
I'm great at making coffee! Heck, I'll even make a nice hearty breakfast for you too! Sound good? Then, I'll LET you do some sewing. I'll make sure that no ice builds up on your newly freshly shoveled area. If it does, I'll make sure you know and I'll show you the spots so you can go straight out and clean that area. Don't need any horses slipping and hurting themselves!
See what a great friend I am? hehe
And NO!! I'm not going to arm wrestle you!

I'm glad Tucker is doing ok from his "surgery". I'm sure he'll be good as new soon!!
