Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if I should be thanking everyone who comments on my quilting pictuers, I have done this at times, and then other times I have not. I feel bad if I don't and I don't want to offend anyone. Although I'm wondering if most of you do and I'm just missing it. I would probably be here all day though if I thanked everyone.
I'm just not sure what is the right thing to do., so If I have not thanked you yet Please know that I really appreciate all the wonderful compliments from all of you. I just love this board, It always makes me feel so happy to see quilters like myself really enjoy what they are doing. :) :) :) :) :)

I think if you sent personal thank you's to everyone, you'd never get any quilting done. tee hee I think a general thank you on the post is appropriate...

A thank you, in general is great!! I don't think anyone expects a PM every time they say they like a project.

I think most people goive a general thank you after a few comments are given.

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 03-09-2010 12:51 PM

I agree with Darlene. A general thank you after several comments is sufficient.

If possible, I think it is nice to answer any questions about the project. People often ask about patterns, materials, etc.

I post a thank you every few posts. I think it's only polite.

I consider every comment to my posts a thank you.

shaverg 03-09-2010 02:58 PM

I post a thank you after every 4 or 5 posts

littlehud 03-09-2010 07:17 PM

I agree a general thank you is plenty.

I for one don't check back to see whether my comments have been acknowledged. If I've asked a question, I'll check back for an answer. So I'm not offended if I'm not thanked.

OTOH, I do thank people who take the time to comment on my pictures and threads. Not always individually, but every so often, I'll at least post a group thank you.

Ditto, my dears.

I try to keep it balanced. I don't want people to think that I am answering just to keep my post on the first page, but I also do not want to ignore people who might ask a question.

Thank you for wording my thoughts. I would never want anyone to think I "bump" but if someone takes the time to ask me a question I would be rude not to anwser it.

A thank you in the post is great. I personally hate seeing thank-yous after every compliment.

belmer 03-10-2010 12:14 PM

OK, A big thankyou to all of you for your input. That help's me alot.

Being new here but knowing my manners :) , I think a 'Thank You' the following day or close to the end of your thread is sufficient. Like someone said, if you thank everyone you'll never have time to quilt, and if you thank after 5-6 people you'll start sounding like a card company. ;)

oh, by the way....you do beautiful work.

belmer 03-11-2010 08:56 AM

Thankyou very much.
