5'3" - and holding

Glad you didn't asked about circumferences!

MotherDuck 08-08-2010 04:23 AM

5'12" (yeah ... six foot!) been this height since I was 15 years old ... youngest daughter also 15 now just a fraction shorter than me :) Guess it's in the genes!

MotherDuck 08-08-2010 04:25 AM

oh and I am the shortest in my family! - have three brothers - oldest one is 6'3", younger brothers 6'3" and 6'9" - yep he's a big man! All great Aussie blokes!

I am almost 67. When I was a teenager, 5'7" was considered tall. I'm still 5'7" but look up to the teenagers now. Each generation gets taller.

I'm short (5'2", though the doctor says I've shrunk to 5'1" - huh), so most people are taller than me anyway. So just looking around and assessing isn't giving me the answer.

So.... I'm taking a survey. How tall are YOU?

I used to be 4'11.5" but have already shrunk .25" ...pretty soon I'll need a booster seat to drive! LOL

I, too, don't think of myself as short until it is pointed out to me.

and, as somebody else has mentioned, i'm always happy to help the vertically challenged reach those pesky top shelves in the store. (they help me get things off the bottom. my knees are not always up to the challeng of deep knee bends. )

Well Patrice, welcome to the problems with knees club :-D My uncle was 6'4" and he figured out why we have knee problems. When you sit down, your knees are above your bottom :-D especially on standard potties. Isn't long til we start having difficulty getting that back side up off the sofa, chair or whatever :-D Most sofas and chairs are not high enough for tall folks.(made for shorties :-D ) Yes, I too had a higher chair at work...could jump and run quickly, no push ups off the desk :-D Those with shorter stature also have their different needs, isn't it wonderful how we are all so diverse and yet so the same :D Always thought that 5'9" would be great, of course, being tall everyone seems to think that you don't have a weight problem....NOT

I used to be 5' 5" and I have shrunk to 5' 3 1/2". The shrinking is one of the side effects of old age. :-P

sew_southern 08-08-2010 07:18 AM

I'm 5'4, my 19 y/o DD is 5'6, my 16 y/o DD is 5'5.

nativetexan 08-08-2010 07:24 AM

I was 5'7", but think i lost at least 1/2" with age. i reached my full height by 12 yrs old. my sister is 5'8" and mother was 5'6".

Ditter43 08-08-2010 07:31 AM

I used to be 5'6" but with all the back injuries and problems I am just under 5'2" now....My DH calls me the incredible shrinking woman! :|
