How Thoroughly Quilty Are You?

Do you buy Quilted Northern TP just because it's "quilted"?

dd 10-24-2014 05:57 AM

Nope, sorry, I use Angel Soft.lol Good question though.

Sewnoma 10-24-2014 05:58 AM

LOL!!

NO! That TP is terrible quality! I'm a fan of Charmin, myself.

I think my paper towels might be "quilted", though...

earthwalker 10-24-2014 05:59 AM

No...we buy totally cheap recycled stuff - I spend the savings on quilty items and my husband spends his on art supplies!

feline fanatic 10-24-2014 06:22 AM

Being on a septic system I have found the TP kindest to my very old system is Scotts. Used to use Charmin but it wreaked havoc on my system.

ManiacQuilter2 10-24-2014 07:04 AM

No I don't. I am finishing up using Charmin because they cut down on the width of their TP!! Why is that baby wipes are so much bigger than adults ??? :)

Prayerquilter 10-24-2014 07:44 AM

No I don't either... Have septic system like feline fanatic... so I too use Scotts. Best for our system...LOL

needles3thread 10-24-2014 07:51 AM

No, but I do like the look of the pretty quilted patterns on it.

zennia 10-24-2014 08:04 AM

LOL
good question. My answer is no. I use one of its competitors.

Krystyna 10-24-2014 08:32 AM

I'll confess that I purchased some simply because it was quilty. However, I didn't like it. We are a two TP household. I prefer fluffy and my husband prefers flat.

Doggramma 10-24-2014 12:23 PM

Count me in as a Cottonelle user. I guess I'm not totally quilty!

nygal 10-24-2014 12:25 PM

LOL that is the brand I buy but not because it's quilted. lol

Are you old enough to remember when the product first came out? quilters this quilters that...but the women were knitting. We rose up enmass.
We use Kirkland, a big box store brand.

tessagin 10-24-2014 04:00 PM

LOL!! Hubby likes cush for his tush. He thinks there is nothing better than Charmin with Aloe. As long as I have some when I need it I'm good.

raynhamquilter 10-24-2014 04:06 PM

Always use Quilted Northern. Never really thought about it being "quilted". I just like.

Same for our household too.

lynnie 10-24-2014 05:46 PM

we live in a condo and were told not to use it. I wouldn't buy it bc it's quilted.
wasted advertising on me

0tis 10-24-2014 05:53 PM

I used to always buy Charmin but since we are on a limited budget - I try to buy the softest at the best price (whatever is on sale).

AngeliaNR 10-24-2014 08:56 PM

Scott's here. I'll always remember how much my dad disliked the thick, soft types--in his words, "Toilet paper should have grip" !;)

LOL! :D

We're a "Two TP" household, too. I like the cheap Walmart brand that's similar to Scotts, and DH likes the cushiest kind he can find. The cushy kinds always seem to be linty to me, and they seem to fall apart, leaving tidbits of toilet paper behind. (Pun intended! :D ) The cushy kind stops up our toilets, too.

Interesting...we are on septic. I like Northern. Might need to research what works best on septice tanks.

If it was in scrappy colors I would!!

No....toilet paper made from paper that has been recycled (I think its office paper).

For those on septic systems Cotonelle is just asking for trouble....sigh....ask me how I know!

rjwilder 10-25-2014 06:17 AM

We use White Cloud 3 ply Ultra Soft and Thick, it's safe for septic tanks and RV's. I did the "dissolve test" using White Cloud, Charmin and Quilted Northern and the toilet paper sold specifically for RV's. I put 3 sheets of each in 1/2 cup of water and White Cloud fell apart the most, there was practically nothing left of it, I couldn't pick it up and squeeze it out. The other brands were just in a blob with a few stray pieces that fell apart. I could pick up the blob and ring it out. Now I'll have to get Scott's and do the test with it and the White Cloud. White Cloud is only sold at WalMart.

I think most of the brands cut down on the width of their TP. I used to be able to stack only 4 rolls under the bathroom sink. Now, I can stack 5! One store brand here is still wide but the paper is thinner.

Debbie C 10-25-2014 11:51 AM

Septic Systems Love Scott's!

CMARAS1234 10-26-2014 09:53 PM

I buy what ever is on sale,, but I never put paper in my septic tank, That goes back to my HOUSE BOAT days, I never put anything in that I havent eaten first, Ever, and I use ridx every three months, I also empty waste basket every other day, I usually burn it. also I live alone so its no big deal ...cmaras1234

barking-rabbit 10-26-2014 10:50 PM

Scott's has come out with a tube free roll now too, I keep a extra trash can in the bathroom for recyclables.

jquilt214 10-27-2014 06:10 PM

I recently read an article by a plumber that you should not flush baby wipes or wet wipes down your toilet. They will clog your sewer lines and cause big plumber bills to get the lines cleaned. Just a warning.

dd 10-28-2014 08:08 AM

Yes I had to tell the kids when they moved back in about not flushing wipes or tampons.
