Great here. No fog like yesterday. I hope everybody is safe, warm, have plenty of food, and for those of us that do quilt things, have electricity with these freaky storms.

I am sitting in NJ hoping for the 3-5 inches we are promised so we can have a snow day. You are probably laughing your bottoms off that a little bit of snow would close everything down!

How do you make the thread catchers? They are really cute!

Very cute thread catchers and kitty! Looks so cold there!!!! Things are good here in S CA a little chilly but we just do not get much harsh weather.

Love your thread catchers. Is there a pattern for those?

Thanks everyone, it is no longer snowing but today it is bitter. This morning when I went to the barn it was 2, now after noon it is up to 5 - whoopee! I have to either make or buy booties for my Bridget lab, her little feet froze this morning, to the point where she even sat down and held up one little frozen paw.

The thread catchers are so darn simple they go together in mere minutes. I made a dozen in one short evening and today at the cookie exchange the girls loved them. The biggest task was finding some cute buttons at a reasonable cost to put on them. If you plan far enough ahead, my dear friend Roberto Fabuloso gave me the idea to look on ebay and etsy, they have a lot of really cute buttons for reasonable. The link to the thread catchers is http://gigisquilts.blogspot.com/2011...ar-thread.html If that doesn't work (I copied it off my printout) google Gingerbread Girl's Quilting Adventures, she has it as my first tutorial: a triangular thread catcher. Have fun, I gave my favorite quilt store one of my templates I cut out of plastic so they can make kits to sell.
