Hubby at the Craft Store, comedy routine

I like the Dry Bar Comedy channel on YouTube. I saw this one today and thought I would share. I do not have a husband and when I did I did not take him shopping.

Rhonda K 07-09-2019 12:29 PM

Love it! I get all 10 minutes in the craft store if DH comes along.

Teddybear Lady 07-09-2019 04:35 PM

This is so funny. My husband goes with me to all the craft stores and I go with him to Harbor Freight. I always find something to buy there. haha

ladyinpurple135 07-09-2019 05:22 PM

I have absolutely never, ever asked my husband of almost 44 years to go to a craft store, a quilt store or any place that sells fabrics. He has driven me to quilt stores and then either left for a few hours or napped in the car - but this is rare. This video is such a hoot - I had to subscribe to Dry Bar to hear all the other comedians.

ladyinpurple135 07-09-2019 05:23 PM

Those weird symbols in my message are supposed to be laughing emojis - guess quiltingboard doesn’t get the joke!!!!

leaha 07-09-2019 05:25 PM

LOL loved thanks!

SueZQ from MN 07-09-2019 06:05 PM

This guy is a hoot! I go with my husband of 49 years to the radio-controlled airplane hobby store and push the cart, and he goes with me whenever I go to a fabric store and never complains, but I am sure that he's thinking all of the things that this fellow is saying out loud!

institches33 07-10-2019 09:06 AM

This is funny because it's true! It also applies to quilt shops and home dec stores as well.

lindaschipper 07-10-2019 09:46 AM

My husband takes me to lunch in a community where a fabric or antique shop is located...tells me to get whatever I want and he'll meet me outside. No problem!!

sJens 07-10-2019 01:02 PM

Good one for sure.

luvstoquilt 07-11-2019 02:58 AM

My husband loved going with me. I was the maniac that begged to go home when I went with him to a hardware store and/or the grocery store. He read every label on every can and he actually weighed the packaged meats. If he went to the store for milk and bread the kids and I used to bet on how many bags he would bring home. Heaven help us when he went to Costco! Miss him❤️.

SillySusan 07-11-2019 04:56 AM

What a hoot!! I love it! Have you ever seen Jeanne Robertson tell about her hubby's trip to the grocery store??

sewbizgirl 07-11-2019 07:12 AM

This is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time! Thanks for sharing.

Chasing Hawk 07-11-2019 07:26 AM

My husband and I have such fun in craft stores. Usually he drops me off at the front door, says take no prisoners and shop till you drop. After he parks the truck and walks the dogs he comes in and finds me.

Then the fun begins........

He will wait until someone is within earshot and says....You need to put half that back. Or do we really need that? You spent how much?!!

The best one is...why are you spending my beer money........LOL

The looks are priceless on some people, one woman in Joann's last week gave my husband the evil eye.....lol

janjanq 07-11-2019 07:48 AM

My first husband (now deceased) used to spend 15 minutes picking out a can of oil for his car, but if I needed a new outfit for a wedding I was expected to pick one out in 30 seconds or less. And a craft or quilt shop..forget that! My current husband is more patient and tolerant, but I'm sure he feels just like the guy in the video! We both can relate! Thanks for sharing!

Yes! I haven't heard it in a few years but it makes me laugh just thinking about it! Is it the one where she gives him a numbered list and he misinterprets the numbers?

Ugh I watched to the 4:50 mark and it was nothing but a commercial for some metabolism something or other. I am really starting to hate YouTube. Can't wait for the Next Big Thing to come along.

Peggi, I'm not sure how you got to the metabolism thing... I clicked on the link and it was totally the comic

She is a hoot!

My husband politely refuses to go into a fabric store. He was "burned" several years ago in any fabric store due to the fumes / vapors from the fabric dyes. Within less than 5 minutes his eyes would be burning and tearing. Same thing happened to our son when he was a youngster. Since then, the dyes' formulas have changed so the fumes / vapor are minimal to non-existent. However, DH will generally stay in the car and listen to Books on Tape or Pandora, etc. He's happy and so am I.

MCH 07-11-2019 12:52 PM

My husband avoids going into fabric / craft stores. I don't mind. However, we both treat a visit to the local hardware store almost as if it were a "date". I LOVE going to the hardware store...so many cool things...I really like going to the paint department to check out all the gadgets (I love to paint a room) and the eye candy of all the paint chips. "Oh, that combination would make a great quilt block!" The downside is that it's rarely possible for us to go get out of the hardware store having spent more than I would have spent at a fabric store! As I have said frequently, "Some women prefer to shop at Macy's or Nordstrom. Not me...I prefer the hardware store. I couldn't get dressed without Land's End or LL Bean, however." Perhaps I like the hardware store because I have great memories of when I was a little girl and going to the hardware store with my Dad or my Grandpa. And, more importantly, if a trip to the hardware store for my DH and me is tantamount to a "date", I'll take it!! (We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary last year!)

I don't know either. The caption below the video led me to believe it was the comic's video. I couldn't fast forward past it, either.

My DH goes with me to fabric and craft stores. The only problem I have with him is in Hobby Lobby. He will go off, and find things to look at that interest him. Then come back to the fabric cutting table, and if the clerk is not there hit the little bell a couple of times. If the clerk isn't sight, he'll hit it again. and go to another aisle leaving me to deal with the mean clerk. They now know to hide the bell when they see him with me. LOL

aborning 07-12-2019 05:03 PM

I watched this and found it hilarious. Then I had my husband watch it. He thought it was quite entertaining as well!

zozee 07-12-2019 09:03 PM

Spot on hilarious! The bronze rooster. "I don't care." "Swing by another craft store"! :)

Miss Cheechee,

I read your post to my husband, now I have planted the seed in his brain......I see a trip to Hobby Lobby soon......LOL This technique is right up his alley.

Thank you! I love starting my day with laughter! My husband was laughing and nodding, too! I am also happy to be introduced to Dry Bar Comedy. Enjoy your day.

grannie cheechee 07-13-2019 06:32 AM

Chasing Hawk, can you imagine the two of us in Hobby Lobby with our DHs pulling their pranks? They would be banned from every craft store. LOL By the way, DH likes what your DH does at the stores. They would be a good comedy team.

So true, Miss Cheechee

Surely it would keep us laughing as well never having a dull moment with them in the store.

My DH used to send me by myself. He told me he knew I would use "it" sooner or later....

During a one-day sale at Fabricland, I wanted my hubby to come in and hold my place in cahier lineup so I could look around for something other than paying for fabric I ordered (for 4-H). The man in front of me kept sending his wife back for more because "it's on sale!.....

I sent this link to my sister-in-law because her husband is always going with her to the craft stores. He doesn't want to but I think his ulterior motive in going is to rein in her spending. LOL
