Hurrah I'm Snowed In Today!
Guilt free sewing ALL day. They always over react in this part of the country, but it looks like we could get a really good dump of snow. Our problem is usually drifting. But we shopped yesterday. I have wine, chocolate and material!! What more could I need.

Have fun, just hope you don't lose power.
Me too! It's started to snow here. I only hope we don't lose the power. Looking forward to sewing up my own storm.
You surely "have it all".
Sounds like a perfect day! Have a great time and stay warm.
What more could a girl need? LOL
We are to be snowed in too starting tonight. I can do some sewing as long as we don't lose power.
We got dumped on overnight. It is currently snowing and blowing like a banshee. Environment Canada Weather is forecasting 8-12 inches and 30-40 mph winds over the next 12 hours. Unfortunately (not that I'm complaining--much) I have both grandbabies here for a few days. So, no sewing for me, just playing on the floor, cuddling, story reading and toddler wrangling!!
enjoy your day and i hope you don't lose power.
Wow, sounds great to me, makes me jealous, I'm off to work.
Alas..... I'm ready for one of those days! Stay warm and.... happy sewing!:D
Yes you definitely have the makings for a perfect day.

Me Too!!! was going to have to work but owner decided to close the quilt shop for the day because of weather - so I'm home. Here's the list of things to do. 1. finish the quilt top currently on the design wall. 2. Put the extra borders on grandson's quilt. 3. Put the batik quilt up on the design wall so I can get a grip on where I'm at. 4. cut the batting and backing for three grandson quilts (see # 2 above) that I am enlarging. Oh, and eat. Maybe cook, but who knows?
Sounds like you stocked up on the essentials ! I miss living in the North East.. those unplanned snow days were so nice to just work on projects.

MaryKatherine Have fun, stay warm and most definitely stay off the roads unless you need to. |
I hope you get a lot of quilting done. I hope all of you stay safe and warm. I guess our winter is over, when I opened my blinds this morning my neighbors red bud tree that blooms in March is in full bloom.
Nothing!
I will be joining you tomorrow as we are expecting 18-24” of snow and blowing winds of 50-60 MPR tonight into tomorrow. If the power goes out, I’ll wrap myself up in quilts and work on my hand quilting work. Everyone in the Northeast, enjoy and stay safe!! |
Happy SnEW Day, MaryK!
We haven't got all that much yet, have we? As you said, they tend to over-react. To say the least about TO! :) On CP24 this morning, they were having a good hoot about this Twitter from York Regional Police this morning ....... "If you're reading this from the bottom of a ditch, you were going to fast. Slooow Down!!" So true!! :D |
Hope we get a bunch o snow, too. They seem to think we will, but right now it is raining. Have enough gas, milk, and food.. I also have Yodels..
I'm a little jealous - would love a snow day!!
Lucky you, we got rain, snow and then more rain.
I live 25 miles from fabric stores. Every time I buy fabric I tell them I could get snowed in and need something to do.
Pea green with envy here. I don't miss the snow on the ground for a week after the storm but I really miss watching it fall and having the world come to a halt for a day.
That's such a wonderful attitude to have! Enjoy.
Still snowing here...we're still relaxing!
Snow drifts in my yard almost as tall as I am. We had to physically PUSH the dog out the door to relieve himself and he was back in within seconds.
Hope everyone is safe and warm. I am from Chicago, and sometime misses the snow.
We keep talking about New England, but they're also having a lot of snow in the So CA mountains. I had an email from my BFF there saying they're hunkered down in front of the fireplace under a quilt I made for them last year watching old movies.
Hi nygal - I'm on Long Island - middle of the south shore - we got about 18 inches of the white stuff overnight and I'm exhausted from all the cleaning up!! No sewing for me today - just a nap!

I am so jealous!!! I love snow.

Wish I had a good excuse to quilt all day. Instead, DH and I finished putting in two new square foot garden frames and filled them with Mel's Mix, and started 3 buckets of potatoes. Trying to get the "hot" work done before it gets really hot and humid next month. I just hate to sweat! Enjoy the snow.
I have gotten to sew the last 3 or 4 weeks on the weekends. SIL, Husband and Son put in a new ceiling in Dining room and kitchen. SIL is finishing up the mudding, taping and sanding. What a mess, it will be very nice nice when it is finished. Guess I will prep and paint it. I'm very tired of the mess and dust.

Have a great time!

As a followup to my original post.....
We had a foot of snow, but the storm has passed, the drive is dug, the sun is shining, its-20 and they're calling for rain tomorrow!!! I DID gets lots of delicious work on a quilt done, though! MaryKatherine |
We had about 24" of snow here in Lowell, MA. They just plowed the parking lot of our apt. complex - yesterday they just did the middle, but today my husband had to finish digging out and move the car so they could finish plowing. I had a great weekend quilting a kit I've had for some time and it's now finished ready to see if it needs a border or not, then to the quilting. The snow isn't bad as long as you are on the inside looking out and don't have to be anywhere.
That sounds like such a relaxing day!!!! I hope you enjoy your sewing!!!
I'm sewing today Sunday. It is snowing here in northern Minnesota and we are in a blizzard which will snow about 8 to 12 inches. Not looking forward to it but hey I can sew with no interruptions. Hope the electricity stays on.
