A Hygge idea

Apparently the "next big idea" in home decor is Higge.. Danish for cozy. Well, I am ahead of my time I guess because years ago I made napkins out of flannel using my serger to make them quickly. I needed them for a dinner party. I used stash to make mine. I like to also make homespun ones, but they need ironing and flannel ones don't! Anyway, I pull them out each winter and I just love using them (We use cloth napkins every day since I have to do laundry anyway.).
So as the freezing rain warning runs across the TV screen, I wanted to share one way to stay Higge (Hoo-gah).

Is Higge or Hygge "hoo-gah" napkins? I love all things Danish. still trying to find where in Denmark my Father's family came from. Pics if you have any.

Sounds warm and cuddly, hot soup with a flannel napkin.

I think it is spelled Hygge but my husband used the paper which had the article in it in the fireplace....how appropriate to use it to make our family room fire (in the fireplace of course) ...now we are enjoying a hygge evening!!!!
Anything that makes you cozy goes...warm throws, friendly dinners, flannel soft napkins. The Danes have it right!
good luck ,nativetexan

Fearing that the weather forecasters may actually have been correct, we avoided having a fire this past weekend cause we were low on firewood and worried we'd lose power (and living in the country, we sometimes are without power for 4-9 days). But thankfully, while we did have about 1/4" of ice Sat night/Sunday am, we did not lose power, so we'll have a fire this week. Think I might be in a Hygge mood too cause I've made soup twice since Sat. !
