cute doll clothes. I need to find a few patterns that fit American Girl doll

I found quite a few in JoAnn's, and surprisingly at Wal-Mart as well. They seemed to be pricey to me - just about $15, but they were 40% off at each store, so I was okay with that. My gd received an American Doll for her birthday - have several fabrics laid out, just need to cut and sew....as well as two quilts to finish....all before Christmas. Better get the sewing machine humming!! Working 2nd shift now has put a little cramp in my daily routine.

Cute. I made Barbie clothes for my DD years ago. Can't wait until Olivia is old enough for the clothes. Right now all her babies are naked.

Thanks for the link...not doing period clothes at the moment, but it is a good source....I downloaded one of them and it has 68 pages to print....wow...get out the new ink cartridge! lol.

I bought McCalls or Simplicity patterns at Joanns for $.99 when they had a sale. There are several different ones. I started with the one for knits since I think the younger GD can dress her doll easier. I haven't sewn with knits for a LONG time...had to refresh my memory about tricks! The hardest was using some kind of vinyl that I needed a Teflon foot for, but didn't want to take time to buy. I used tissue paper and it was OK, but what stinker to get out of the stitches!

They are soooo cute. They will be much loved! I like making doll clothes that size rather than the smaller ones.

My youngest GD is getting an American Doll for Christmas and I want to make extra outfits. I'm on the hunt for a pattern. I'm not great at improvising. I'm making her a doll quilt for this Christmas but her birthday is in February so I want to make some clothes which gives me a little time. She is the GD that I'm teaching to sew so it will be great if we can make some together.

Hancock's carries the Lauren Doll and have kits made up for the clothes. I may purchase one of them to get started because I can use a coupon. Hancock's and Hobby Lobby also have their McCalls and Simplicity patterns on sale. I just need to get a pattern #!!

I as Mrs. Santa Claus made doll clothes years ago. Youngest Granddaughters is now 18. Great Granddaughters are just starting to play with dolls.

I have made doll clothes for my granddaughter. I used a pattern for 18" dolls and they fit her American Girl doll. Most recently I have been side tracked by Halloween costumes and a flannel nightgown for granddaughter.

Well, I am getting a little confused here.....I remarked that I bought the 18" doll pattern, made the little skating leotard and skirt......boy, I don't think it will fit the AG that was purchased. I also downloaded a couple of the AG patterns from the AG playthings link, and those are much large than the pattern that I bought. I am wondering if there are different sizes for the AG dolls? I guess I will have to make one of the other outfits, sneak them on the doll and see which one fits! Buggers.....
