Sounds like the beginning of one of those dire warnings about "a friend of a friend who...." but it isn't!

I was in the parking lot at the supermarket this morning and was approached by someone asking if I give quilting lessons. I have a quilty licence plate, so it's not hard to figure out that I quilt.

I've given lessons to friends before but never a paying stranger. I like to teach, so it may be fun.

Cool!

When I visited DGD in CO last time I saw a really cute little shop where they teach young girls to sew. I though teaching sewing was neat but quilting is even better!

That's cool I have been asked to help teach friends and family.
I always tell them that I love them too much to try and teach them.
I am a learner NOT a teacher.
I tried once and ended up getting frustrated and then they were frustrated.
Not my calling I guess. :|

It could be fun if you remember that you need lots of patience and the ability to be flexible!! Otherwise everyone gets uptight and it isn't fun anymore.

P.S. Mandie where did you get your avatar pic? I live about 30 miles from that sign! Is it a picture that you took?

I got it off the internet ;) I too live about 30 miles from it.

would you go to their house or meet somewhere? only at your house if you trust this person. most likely a very nice person, but these days you must think about the possibility they may not be.

I thought of this as no, I don't know him. We only exchanged e-mail addresses so I may never hear from him. If he's truly interested, my thought was to meet in the workroom of the LQS.

It's always good to be careful, but sometimes things work out. My husband and I met online in a gardening bulletin board and we just celebrated our 12th anniversary.
