No more little bits of fabric that I never use!!!! :oops: It's either me or the tiny scraps and I have to save my sanity.

I CAN use the trash basket and it will accept whatever I put in it - and more importantly - I will not take one thing out of it!!!! :thumbup:

I never save tiny scraps either. I do save remnants like triangles left from cutting certain blocks.

LOL!!! After seeing what my aunt had after years of sewing I probably waste too much but I don't want to end up with tons of junk like she had!

I agree. I toss all but the scraps that i would be able to make into 4" squares. All others are to small.

SHHHH don't tell anyone but I toss ALOT of scraps. I just don't have the room to store them. I used to have a few brown grocery bags of 2" strips for a log cabin which I always planned on making but never got around to, so I put them (and alot of other scraps and yardage of fabric I didn't like anymore) out in my daughter's neighborhood yard sale last June. POOF! They were gone like a puff of smoke.

If it's cuts off triangles I sew them together to make HSTs. I save most small scraps of fabric until I'm done working on that particular quilt then they're gone. I used to give them to a "friend" because she'd asked if I would give her my scrappy pieces, some were as big as fat eighths, until I overheard her tell someone that I was gave her all my garbage. Now, I keep the bigger pieces and the small ones go in the garbage.

I agree, sometimes one man's junk is just junk. Unless you have a friend who ask to save some for her miniature quilts, toss it out! Everyone know if you become too sad of the loss of your scraps, you can be successully treatred with shopping therapy.

Oh, she was using them and kept asking for more. She just felt like I had so much fabric I should give her more, but she had asked for the left over scraps in addition to the yards of fabric that I'd given her. She was just one of those people that never quit asking and yet never appreciated. Since we're no longer friends my rulers, template material, books, etc, aren't walking away either.

This is one of the best ideas for scrap fabric - thread tanglings - batting pieces, etc., etc., etc... Throw all into a catch all bag - then sew a doggy bed or cat bed and fill it with all the scraps. Donate the finished doggy or cat bed to your local animal shelter. The animal shelter will love you and your donations....

Use two pieces of material - sew wrong sides together - leave a 6" space to turn the fabric right side out - stuff with scrap stuff - sew 6" space together 'use your sewing machine' doggies won't care if their bed is perfectly made.This is like making a throw pillow....
