Thank you everyone for your kind replies. Three friends and I have just booked a hotel to go up to Birmingham for the Festival of Quilts in August. This is one of the largest exhibitions in the UK, and it will nearly pay for the hotel !!! SO MORE MONEY to spend in the show. !!!!

Thanks Ilma, we visited Austin 3 years ago ( and watched the bats from a bridge - can't remember the name of the bridge.) We were staying with some friends in Keller TX and drove down to San Antonio - staying in Austin on the way. We also visited an Amish community on the way - oh my, the quilting was awesome. Had a great holiday - or vacation as you say !!
