hamburger on toasted rye with fried onions and melted cheese.

coopah 03-12-2012 05:42 AM

BLT on toasted wheat. Hands down favorite...made at home, not in a restaurant.

DJinSC 03-12-2012 06:12 AM

I'll vote for chicken salad if it's made well. Can't stand biting into grizzly chicken. What's your's Ditter?

Cheshirecatquilter 03-12-2012 06:34 AM

When my garden starts producing my favorite is sliced cucumber and tomato with some mayo, garlic powder, and oregano. I can't wait for August now!

ree-nee 03-12-2012 06:40 AM

laura59 03-12-2012 06:52 AM

Read somewhere recently that a Cuban sandwich is what they call a sub, grinder, etc. in Miami. That is just so wrong! When we lived in Miami we had a nearby lunch counter with a walk up window where you could watch them slicing the pork right off the roast and then lovingly add the other ingredients. My mouth is watering. I have learned not to order a Cuban here in central Florida. They are fast and free with the wrong ingredients.

Iraxy 03-12-2012 07:18 AM

smoked turkey with cranberry sauce and mayo
crunchy peanut butter and honey

Sew N Tune 03-12-2012 08:54 AM

Chicken salad made with dried cranberries, pecans, celery and a hint of curry, on grilled raisen bread. Oh yumm....

amandasgramma 03-12-2012 09:00 AM

I know, this is UnAmerican.........I don't like sandwiches......very few will I eat, and when I do, it's usually at a restaurant and it's a BLT.

quiltmau 03-12-2012 09:15 AM

hate sandwiches-do like hamburgers when done fresh-not McD or any other fast food.

Maris 03-12-2012 09:28 AM

Peanut butter and jelly are the best

jlwheart 03-12-2012 09:37 AM

BLT, then the Reuben, Russian type that is. Just thinking of it makes me hungry LOL. I'm heading to Twin Cities end of March and making a beeline to Cecil's in St Paul for my favorite Russian Reuben.

QuiltingGrannie 03-12-2012 09:39 AM

Rueben when I go out and it's an option.
Philly Cheese steak - in PA - they just don't make 'em the same elsewhere.
At home - PB & J, or in the summer BLT

LenaBeena 03-12-2012 09:41 AM

Favorite Sandwiches

As a child I was so anemic I had to eat raisons and liver all the time. So I put them together in a sandwich. I'm not saying it was tasty, but it got down faster together!

JReadman 03-12-2012 09:42 AM

Fresh veggies & mayo on squaw bread. And what is your favorite??

katykwilt 03-12-2012 09:57 AM

When the garden is producing, a nice loaded BLT.
In winter, bacon and peanut butter -- the bacon needs to be hot, the peanut butter won't stick to your teeth then.

chris_quilts 03-12-2012 10:01 AM

Mine is a crubnchy PB with a banana (ripened but not banana bread stage) on good hearty bread. My eat out fav is Panera's chipotle chicken sandwich.

Kitsie 03-12-2012 10:08 AM

BLT with onions. Close second bacon, onion & egg with my hens eggs!

seamstome 03-12-2012 10:13 AM

Pulled pork with coleslaw in the middle or a reuben

DonnaFreak 03-12-2012 10:14 AM

Roast beef and swiss on Rye. Funny thing is, if I don't have the rye, I don't want the roast beef. If I don't have the roast beef, don't even try to pass Rye off on me! It has to be that EXACT combination or I don't want it!

Oh....and ya can't beat a good BLT with homegrown T's on it! LOL!

Well EGGS salad has to be my favorite. But I like the reuben as well. Funny story my girlfriends and went out for lunch a few times at Kneaders and I ordered the reuben. I could only eat half of it so I took the rest home. My husband pulls it out of the fridge and say why do you keep buying me reuben. I said I didn't buy it for you it is my left overs. Here he thought I was being nice and bringing him a sandwich. NOT!

Nancy Ingham 03-12-2012 10:31 AM

Ham & Cheese with mayo and spicy brown mustard, spinach leaves, purple onion, tomatoes and sweet peppers! Okay, now I'm hungry :)

Ditter43 03-12-2012 11:00 AM

Well, my favorite is a bst...bacon, spinach and fresh garden tomato.(Cherokee purple tomatoes are the best!!) We had our first one this year, last week!!
My second would be a good Reuben.
My everyday favorite sounds strange but is delicious...Peanut butter, mayo, onions and spinach....yum yum!!

redhotnana 03-12-2012 11:13 AM

Theoldgraymare has the right idea--NO wimpy bread! Try tomato, avocado, mayo, and sliced green onion--yumm! Even better with melted cheese! Or try chicken or turkey with melted gruyere and cranberry-walnut chutney (get it at Honeybaked Ham). Makes me hungry--think I'll go eat!

QUILTNMO 03-12-2012 11:15 AM

love reubens

callen 03-12-2012 11:49 AM

Good ole Grilled Cheese & followed by egg salad sandwich.

wildyard 03-12-2012 11:50 AM

I love a good Rueben too!! For homemade, it's egg salad with crumbled crispy bacon and chopped black olives in it on good whole grain bread. Egg and green olive will do in a pinch. LOL

bjnicholson 03-12-2012 12:09 PM

Can't decide. Grilled cheese or BLT. You're making me hungry!

Radiana 03-12-2012 01:44 PM

A plain homegrown tomato sandwich on very fresh white bread with mayo. According to the "White Trash Cook Book" you've got to eat it over the sink.

Believe it or not Peanut Butter and Bacon on toast. I've got so many friends hooked on it. Try it you'll like!

solstice3 03-12-2012 02:06 PM

I love most of them... one cafe near makes a turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce...mmmmm. Use to like the Monte Cristo but have backed off the grease.
