My very science oriented 16 year old son wanted to go outside to see the eclipse. No problem, but living in The Bronx, no way he would go out alone, so this mother bundled up and went outside with him. We are frozen solid, red checks, but he is happy as can be. I am now holding my laptop on my lap without the holder trying to warm up. I have to admit, is very pretty. Did I say I am cold!!!???

I got to see it from Northern California! It is beautiful. I woke up DH and told him he had to come out and see it. I was so happy because it has been raining here and the clouds opened up so we could she this beautiful miracle! I took pictures - not the best, but something to hold dearly.

Good Mommy!

CarrieAnne 12-21-2010 04:36 AM

Great Mom! I wanted to see it, but we had a sow storm!

dakotamaid 12-21-2010 04:47 AM

Not crazy, just a mom!!

We set the alarm and got up at 2:00 a.m. It was very cloudy and misting and we could not see the moon. But we did notice that the sky was light, almost seemed like it was 7:00 a.m. instead of 2:00.

Leann 12-21-2010 04:58 AM

What a cool (no pun intended) idea. Surprised my kid didn't mention it!

Great bonding time!

kathyd 12-21-2010 06:55 AM

It's what we do as moms...support our kids. We had clouds so no seeing the eclipse for this part of IL.

You are a good mother. It was too cloudy here to see it.

Abby'smom 12-22-2010 03:15 PM

Good mama -- my DH woke me up at 3:30 to watch it on tv since we were very cloudy -- interesting but I was so sleepy

mountain deb 12-22-2010 04:55 PM

Cold is when jello freezes before it gets to your mouth. Now that is cold. Glad you had a good together time.

karenchi 12-22-2010 05:33 PM

Funny. When the boys were young they wanted to stay outside and watch a meteorite shower that was to happen between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m. so we all got our sleeping bags and laid out in our front yard and watched the shower, man that was fantastic, we had such a great time, with thermos's of Hot chocolate and chips, and laughter to fill the air. I would do it again in a minute.
