A couple of days ago I was reading on here about how people had cut fingers and feet,... with their rotatory cutters. Some I understood it happens and some I thought, UM?
Well, DH came thru and asked what I was reading so I showed him.
Needless to say his response was " I've asked you to please wear shoes in the hobby room and we need to go get you some of those gloves."
My response sure whatever, but I always house shoes in here.
I guess, I just nursed my finger for a rotatory cutter cut. (DH and I both are nurses)
Yep, DH is at work, but he'll notice it.
By the way did I mention I'm an uncontrolled diabetic? I didn't feel it, just started to try to figure out where the blood was coming from.
I hear an "I told you so in my very near future."
Sorry to those that i thought,Um.
It was my right thumb, um? I'm right handed and had the cutter in my right hand?

If it weren't for my fingernails I would have multiple cuts on the ends of my fingers.

LOL!

It happens.

Lucky for me I got an AWESOME rotary cut right in the beginning of my quilting endeavors. Saved me from years of building up the bad karma, kwim?

Same here. I'm left handed...or is it right handed...no for some things it is both. So at my first quilting class I found myself picking up the cutter & trying to reach over, around or under my other hand to cut. Sure enough...I sliced the top of my finger.

I'm still trying to figure out whether to cut right or left handed, but I'm much more conscious now of where each hand & my fingers are.

I always think more of people who are willing to apologize or admit that they were wrong. That shows character. Thanks for the rotary cutter safety reminders.

I've trimmed my nails a time or two with them and always think...dang, that was too close.
