i'm so sorry thats happened to you, I would suggest going to an open sewing day at a quilt shop where its much nicer and friendler you can sill do your chairity work there and you would learn how to do the things you strive to do. as for the rude woman perhaps shes just jealous of your lovely work.

You are doing something from the goodness of your heart. Don't let some old bitter gals get to you. It is sad how some folks just seem to stay angry no matter the age. Be proud of what you are doing and keep the joy in your heart! Have you watched http://tutorials.missouriquiltco.com/. Their Binding Your Quilt tips and tricks Series? Keep up the good work!

Some people just like to complain. Don't pay any attention to them. You know you are doing a good thing with the hats and bibs and quilts. Don't pay any attention to her/them and just be the good person you know you are. God loves you and her but we all know you are doing a good thing and it makes you happy. Hugs for you!!!

Before I finally mastered mitered corners, I would round off the corners of my quilts, (I used a dinner plate for my shaping) and the bindings went on great and they look nice the way they hang from the bed. Maybe you could try "killing with kindness" when the old folks are being hyper critical. Tell them you really appreciate their advice and maybe someday you will be able to do it "as well as they do". I bet that will make them hush.

Here's a great big hug! My first DGD was a premie, and I can tell you we loved and appreciated all the colorful hats in the NICU, and no size was too big or small. Her hat is a cherished reminder of ours now. I hope the lady who made it had your heart, so ignore the hat police!

I'm sending you a HUGE HUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
I have found some great tutorials right here on the board.
Do a search for bindings.
Also Youtube is great, I love the visual.
And you don't have to miter everything!! heehee
Another HUGGGGGGGG

Okay, first, we don't give a hoot what other people think...We have our own creative license and we can break the rules and make things our own....I used to be so worried about what other people thought, it took all the fun out of my sewing.....Now, sister, let me tell ya, they can talk to the hand and leave a message at the elbow...I just really don't care...

This is a wonderful board and anytime you need help, just post on here with your questions...The people on here are soooo very helpful....

Now, here's a link from youtube on how to do mitered corners...youtube is another wonderful resource for technique

Mega Hugs coming your way for all the good work that you have done. Keep up the good work.

As someone has already said, baby's heads come in all sizes so what's the problem with the gal at the senior center. When we get donations at our guild we just take them and say thank you. We don't go through the donations and critic them. We certainly don't want to discourage donations so if we can't use some of the donations we find a place or someone who can. Example, we donate pillowcases to children's hospitals and ask for ones made of cotton but sometimes we got flannel or fleece ones, no problem we give those to local nursing homes, the older people love them.

youtube.com is another wonderful resource for quilting techniques and so is Missouri Star Quilt Company...This is one of my favorite sites....Jenny Doan, owner, has some outstanding technique videos on this site.....Plus there are many other sites that have free online techniques that are free...AND, you have this wonderful board at your fingertips...

Bottom line, stay true to yourself, stay positive and keep on sewing and quilting......
