is IKEA a good and cheaper place to buy one? or should i go someplace else?

i stole the one out of my spare bedroom, for my sewing room..for fabrics.

They are OK...the style is mostly Modern, so it doesn't work too good in my house mixed with antiques.
Check for how it is made. You need to have those fingers that fit together at the drawer ends(forgive me, I haven't had coffee yet).

What about garage sales?

I have never bought anything from IKEA so I can’t tell you one way or the other. Other options if you don’t mind getting something 2nd hand and have a way to move it is: Craigslist, yard sales, Goodwill or other 2nd hand stores.

i will look at garage sales then. or craigs list.
i don't want to do freecycle, because i want to see it first, and not waste other peoples time. if i don't like it.
i do want wood though.
thanks..been to IKEA a few times, with DD..but wasn't impressed, and i wasn't shopping, she was!

Someone recently told me about yakas but I haven't checked it out. Maybe you'll have luck there?

Just had to tell you that your avatar is adorable!

I like IKEA for most stuff, but I don't care for their bedroom furniture stuff. Try freecycle or craigslist first, or Goodwill/Salvation Army, even a local flea market.

I got my dresser from the habitat for humanity store. I had to paint it but I gussied it up and I love it.
1930's style . I painted it white , replaced the metal knobs with glass ones, glued green rhinestones in the middle of the knobs and some on the curlycue thingy on the back of the top of the dresser .
