I have a dear friend turning 75 next week and would like to make her something special.

I have already made her several quilts, she wouldn't use mug rugs, or the bow tucks purse so that's out.

I also embroider. Any suggestions?

I just purchased 7 tea towels made from flour sacking & will hand embroider some vintage designs on them for a friend for Xmas, maybe something like that would work for her?

A lovely, puffy quilt for her dog or cat?
An embroidered scarf, small enough and light enough to be worn summer or winter?
An embroidered or patch worked cover for her sewing machine or toaster?
A quilted tea pot cover?
Is she one who loves embroidered hankies? I'm 77 and love my Grandma and Mom's hankies and will use them till one of us wear out totally.

My grandmother is 75 and has been dropping hints that she needs a new cover for her toaster! So, I echo Ramona Byrd's suggestion...something cheery she can see every day in her kitchen!

What a about a light and feminine quilt smaller enough to throw over her shoulders for in bed or whilst sitting in her favourite chair?

I have seen some of the prayer shawl quilts that would be nice to have, but honestly I would try to do a back flip if someone gave me a set of dish towels emb. would love that...

Maybe a friendship wall hanging?

Does she go to church? How about an embroidered cover for her bible? Or a poem you find or write and then embroider and put in a frame?

How about an apron?

Pillowcases with embroidery/momogram ?
Friendship saying/poem on throw pillow ?
Mongramed towels ?
