I decided to take today off from work and I joined a few friends at a beautiful park and needlepointed for 4 hours in the shade. We brought our lunch and then we went shopping at a needlework store in Massachusetts.

It was a glorious day in Connecticut.

I wish I could take more days off like that, in the middle of the week.

Did anyone else do something spectacular today?

We took the kids to the Cape May Zoo. Beautiful place to take the kids. Quieter that a city zoo and much more spread out. Lots of walking around over wooden bridges and dirt paths (not concrete or paved walks).

I sat out on my patio sewing Christmas Stockings. Ate a salad, drank some iced tea...started gathering things for my secret Pal for September....AND visited 150 quilt shops on the computer for the FabShopHop!!!!
Petted the dogs, watered my husbands tomato plants, took a short nap, filed my fingernails, thought about shaving my legs, but figured that can wait till tomorrow. lol. Watched the landscapers attempt to weed eat the little suckles from the tree out in the yard...he gave up and they are still growing.
I watched a little gray squirrel come running into the yard to get some kernel corn that we buy for them and put out. Watched about 10 hummingbirds swarm past my head heading to the 2 hummingbird feeders we have out for them. Listened to the breeze. In the far distance I could hear a little child playing. Then when I was so engrossed in thought and daydreaming, the elementary school bell rang and scared me stupid. LOL School Starts on Monday here and they started the bell ringing today to make sure that it works. But thats about all I have done today. Was a nice pleasant day. :) Hope everyone else had a great day. OH, I live across the street from the elementary school and my patio faces the PLAYGROUND..

I just graduated last July from Health Info Tech. I loved Anatomy and Physiology classes. Yea, I'm weird. I just wouldn't suggest doing all I did in one year again. LOL

All I did today was pack and when I got tired of packing, I played on Pogo.com. And when I wasn't playing games, I was on here reading. So much to do, so little time.

Helped DD pack for her move on Thurs/Fri. Made a trip to the dump ($8.50 fee) and then a trip to donate to Value Village. Then to the bank to help them with the down payment. All-in-all, a productive but expensive day! LOL! Maybe a 4-hour relaxing cross-stitch opportunity will come up soon :)

I got my hair cut/colored and then took some things to the thrift ranch for donation, then off to my late DH Dr and gave them the C-Pap machine that hopefully someone can use, then off again to the city for DD Dr appoint with her surgeon.. All is healing nicely and she can do PE now..

Took DH to best Italian restaurant in WV and to one of his favorite antique shop/buddies. On the way I made him kiss the windshield when I stood on the brakes because of a doe standing in the road. She moved but on the left verge her fawns stood twitching and undecided about following her with us stopped and looking at them. Finally we eased forward and they bounced away from the road and into the woods.

Years ago I worked at a law firm that would close on the first really nice, sunny, warm spring day of the year, and send all the employees out to play. It was awesome.

Glad you had such a lovely day!
Today was a MUCH better day than yesterday.
Still dealing with the issues but past the shock of hearing our booth at Scarborough Faire was one of the 7 that burned to the ground Monday night and also learning that a friend on the site staff was killed in the fire.
Got some sorting done that resulted in consolidating stuff from several miscellaneous tuppers into a bunch of smaller boxes all the same size that fit ever so nicely on the two shelves under the left end of the back counter. Now to do the boxes under the other half of the counter tomorrow.

OMG! I can't imagine!! Do you have an idea how it started? Was the Faire open at the time? I'm so sorry for the losses in your shop and the staff member.

I spent a few hours on the phone with lawyers talking about probate on my mothers estate..she past away 2 weeks ago of Alzheimers at age 83...then after the 4 grands left for the day, my wife and I went out to weed a few flower beds that we had negelected. When it got to dark to do anymore, we cleaned up and as I was putting things up, I tripped over a garden cart tumbled into the side of the car hitting my head and shoulder and fell onto the concrete driveway, hitting my head and scraping my knee, leg and toes. All in all it COULD have been a worse day...but the gardens look great, my knee leg and toes will heal and we can freely give away the things that belonged to my Mom that my 6 brothers and sisters dont want...Gardening and Quilting make everything better and I am blessed.
