I so need your help !
 

I have to monogram men's handkerchiefs for my son's wedding and I can't figure out how to insert the material into my MC 7000OCP machine. I've tried programing in the initials of the groomsmen but when I try to sew it onto material if goes out straight instead of in the corner at an angle.

I hope you can understand what I mean because I'm not sure myself. I want to embroider the initials on a corner of the handkerchief. I insert it into the machine "kitty corner" thinking it should print that way but instead it just goes straight across, not at an angle.

I'm getting frantic at this point because the bride and groom are coming this weekend to have me do this and I can't figure it out for the life of me. At this point I'm wondering how much it would cost to have a professional tackle this job. There isn't much time since the wedding is Sept. 12, help !

There is embroidery stabilizer that is sticky, can't remember the name but its a Sulky product. You can put your hankies on the square sheet positioned for the corner to be stitched. When I bought my machine the dealer carried all the sulky products and showed us how to use them in our owners classes. Its been over 10 years, but I remember that product well. If your machine dealer is no help, not an option, pull up the sulky site& read about the stabilizer options, you will find the one perfect for your project

Hi....... first of all what kind of machine is this? I googled it no machine came up with those numbers but brought me back to this post, if it is an embroidery machine you need to rotate the letters on the screen or change the position of the corner not kitty corner but the way the machine is sewing not knowing what kind of machine this is afraid I'm not much help

As I remember, it's just called "Sticky". I think they also have a Super Sticky or whatever. The new and improved addition anyway.

If I have this right ....you want the initials to actually end up sort of like a "V" or uspide down triangle, with perhaps the last initial in the middle & larger, first & middle initials on each side, ending up in the corner of the hankie?

To do this in your machine you need to program 1 letter at a time. Move each one in place on your screen until you get the "V" shape, save it in the machine in a folder. Then using sticky stabilizer or 505 spray & tear away stabilizer place your fabric/hankie on top. I'd use muslin as test fabric. You will need to adjust the spacing until you get each letter where you want it. Once you have 1 done then bring up the saved design & clicking on each letter just change them (if your machine allows this). Again you may need to adjust spacing depending on the letters.

The machine is a Janome Horizon MC 7700QCP, a sewing not embroidery machine and it doesn't allow for manipulation.

Wouldn't it be quicker to hand embroider them - just a thought !!!!!!!!!!!

You put the handkerchief in at the angle and the machine goes straight. Hope this is what you want.

You will need to do the START - STOP method of monogramming. Because your machine will only go in a straight line (my machine does the same thing). You need to play with your machine a bit. I would say get some fabric the size you will be using, then mark the spots you want each letter (you will need to make a test of each letter you will have to make - this will let you know the size and shape each letter will take - this is important for moving and having each monogram look the same and take up the same amount of room on each handkerchief). After you have played with your monogramming, do a test on some fabric to see if this is what you want. Because you will have to decide if all letters are the same size, or if your going to use a couple of different sized letters and what shape you want the letters in as well as the font. Thanks to all the great advice on the Board I again when into the quilting studio this morning with a fresh look at my problem and was able to figure out how to set the material in the machine to get the letters where I want them. I actually drew lines on either side of my pressure foot so I will know just where to set the machine on the actual handkerchief's and then I can slip the paper out and hopefully begin. Keeping my fingers crossed :-)
