You know how they can tell a lot about climate and environmental changes by studying tree rings...Well I was finishing up yet another big ole' scrap monster and I thought you could tell a lot by the fabric in there. There was the year when Disney princesses were the rage, or loony toons, Betty Boop. How about the time when I had a thing for foresty, wild animals, left over baby prints. I still have scraps from the games themed quilt made for a grandson...he is in the Navy now. Even the quality of the fabrics tell some thing of cotton prices ups and and downs due to the weather. Right now I am seeing some coarser fabrics from even the good stuff. Maybe some day one of those scrappy monsters will find their way to a fabricologist to study and he or she will write a thesis on the culture of America based on just the leftovers from my scrap bin. What would your scrappy quilt say about you?

What was she thinking? lol

My goodness she sure liked green. =) Over the past few years I have gotten really bit by the quilting bug and I don't throw anything away..I don't care how small the scrap is. The problem I'm running into now is storage...I "plan" on using it all. =) I hope...my family hopes... LoL!

Lands, she'd been collecting fabric for a long time; and she sure had a lot of different prints. Look at all these scrappy (as in maxi-multiple fabrics) quilts!

......... Can she not make up her mind? |
Definitely a spring, cheerful loving person.
|
...a serious addiction to nolvelty fabrics.
|
totally random fabrics.

She loves florals and soft, pretty colors. She must be a romantic!

And what do you think our quilts would say about us in general to that future researcher, what kind of people were we and what did we value, who did we love and what were our communities like.....
