don't make me give up my pants!!LOL

Yes, old times were good for some, but let's remember they were also times of oppression for minorities and women. I don't want to go back to that.

I think the oppression wasn't much different from today...it depended on the kind of man you married, just like it does today.
Watching my daughter go through the dating game, I have to say it is MUCH worse on women today. Many of those young men have no idea how to be men these days, and they are still just as abusive...just not physically

We are equal partners and have a life that allows us both to feel fulfilled, and have raised our four children to expect the same.

Sorry, but I think most of it sounds awful (for me anyway).

agree! in reality the good old days were not that good

to me men are not the people who should wear the pants I find that men who think that way are usually the ones who abuse neglect and treat women like chattels now this may not be everyone's experience but it is mine

I do love the modern advances but miss the old principles. Well put! :-)

Amen! I'm pretty young to be missing "the good old days" that I can't remember but I still live by these principles. I choose to stay home with our girls, I love and support my husband. I know it's not the life for everyone but I love my life this way! :D I have friends, however, who I feel embody these ideals even though they work outside the home, or takeout more than eat in. They still love their families and give selflessly to make their houses a home. I do wish I could've lived in another decade, sometimes, though.
