I am going to the Paducah, KY quilt show in 2012. Any good places to eat near there, or sight seeing trips besides quilt related?

I would like to go back to the whole family sat down to meals together and would sit down together and watch a show ;on TV.

I totally agree. Did you know that Walmart will now be open every holiday except Christmas Day. Even open on Thanksgiving. And I suppose lots of folks will hurry there to shop too.

Oh for the days when families could spend holidays together.

I so agree, my Grandkids live the fast pace, phone, computers, and so on, they call me old, but they really don't have a clue as to what there missing out on.

Yes, one a shadetree mechanic could fix. I agree. Now days it is even difficult to change a fuse in some vehicles.

Actually, they really are about the same or a little bit lower. Figure it out. In 1956 hamburger meat was about 43 cents a pound and minimum wage was 65 cents an hour or a penny a minute. Now minimum wage is $6.50 an hour or about 10 cents a minute. To be the same price (or take the same amount of minutes to earn money to buy a pound), hamburger meat would be $4.30 a pound. In the 50's a 3 bedroom brick tract house cost about $22K. That would have been 11 years salary (2000 hrs a year at $1/hour). Today buying a house about the same size (most places) would be $143K (6.5 times $22K).

I agree with you. Remember when the whole family could sit down and enjoy a show. No more. The quality of TV has gone down the drain.

I so agree with TV being nearly unwatchable now. I only view PBS.
