By tomorrow morning, I'll be on the road. DH and I go to the upper NE corner of Oregon (Snake River/Hell's Canyon) and meet up with a group of friends for a week or 2 of camping and fishing, and yes, a few drinks.:P :thumbup: Then we'll come down to a place near Baker City and go looking for gold. :thumbup: :thumbup: I'll be away from here, missing you all and missing my quilting!!!! I'm taking my sewing machine in for it's yearly maintenance......so MAYBE tonight I'll get everything packed!!! LOL

Have a great and safe trip. Sounds like a lot of fun--especially looking for gold. I've been wanting to go South to that diamond place and look for diamonds but I'm probably too old and decrepit. We're going to Tx soon to visit #1 stepson and family for a few days then to Arkansas to Marshall Dry Goods. That was both hubby and I can have the vacation we want. LOL

BOY - am I jealous of your going to Marshall's!!!!!! I have a girlfriend that lived near the diamond place.......she's in her 70s (was early 70s while living there) and she said it was so easy! Like walking in a field. Course, she didn't get anything!!! :roll:

Have a safe trip. I found years ago vacations are misnamed, I worked hard before and after, would have been more relaxing to stay home. What I prefer now.

You've got that right!!! This time we're each responsible for a day's meals. We do 2 meals a day. I'll have to cook breakfast for 13 people and dinner for 13 people!!!!!!!!! I asked if cold cereal and sandwiches would be okay but they said no!!! go figure

I love cooking outdoors....I can even cook biscuits in an iron skillet with a lid over a bed of coals. :wink:

I do, too....and there is NOTHING...NOTHING better than a stew in a dutch oven! I also like cornbread baked that way.....oh, shoot...I like ALL food....LOL

I walked many fields when I was young and growing up on the farm. I'm not sure my arthritic hip joints could take it now and I don't think my one-legged hubby could do it at all.

YES --- but I was EXHAUSTED when we got back! It rained a good share of the time....I read 6 books!!!

Got SOOOO many Crappie (fish)...our SHARE of the take was 2 ice chests full of fillets!! NO HEADS, no skin, no tails, just fillets!!! That converted to 10 GALLON bags crammed full! Check out my diary for some pics....http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-22588-2.htm
