Just restructure the sentence: "Why did you say 1-2-3?", etc.

Me too. When I opened it I thought it was going to be something different but I think the joke gets the point across much better than any kind of a reprimand. I am also a nut about spelling. Keep a dictionary on your desk if you are a poor speller.

yep it should have been "why did you say 1, 2 ,3? just as it should be "where is it?" in my posting.
for some reason we do tend to add more words to sentences then necessary. My Mother was a stickler for proper grammar in our house.
