Information on Fly/Wasp Problem

I tried to do the "quick reply" but was way over the permitted number of letters -- tried unsuccessfully several times to cut it down but the message was still too long. Hence a new post after condensing as far as I dared to and have it still make sense.

I found how to make your own WASP trap in my files from
http://completegarden.wordpress.com/...-own-for-free/
----------

To control flies: Fill plastic bags half full with water and add 4 pennies, zip shut and hang in the problem area.

The was observed to work by a group eating at Sweety Pie's restaurant. No flies at all were seen in the outdoor eating area.

Hope these help.........PS -- I love the Sweety Pies show on Oprah's network on Sun. evenings -- she is a interesting, smart lady and keeps everyone in line from relatives to employees.

I think I'll give wasp trap a try. I'm allergic to the things and don't like them at all. I've seen the bags of water hanging up to scare off the flies. Lots of places around here have them. I don't know how well they work as you still see flies. the best thing I have found for flies is a fly trap they sell at walmart and home depot. It isn't poisonous but has some kind of attractant in it. Hang it outside away from the house. We've been using them for several years and it is amazing the amount of flies they attract and trap. OUr dd and dsil had horses for years and they used them in the barn areas.

I'll have to figure out a way to hang those plastic bags so that DH doesn't see them. I'll never hear the end of it, or see the end of the eye-rolling, if he does see them!

Those of you who are plagued by stink bugs, make one of these traps with a little light in the bottom before you add the top, you push to turn on and at night put in the rooms that they seem to come into the most. Use the 2 liter bottle. You turn the light on and off with a pencil or other long object. Tape the bottle where it overlaps so they cannot crawl out. They are attracted to the light. You can get the lights at the dollar store. Beats the $20 plus at hardware store.
