in local Wal Mart parking lot getting ready to leave for home when I seen a policeman wearing his uniform with a sniper rifle in the row of cars just ahead of me...and wondered if there was a hostage situation. He turned and pointed his rifle up the parking lot mid-way in the row of cars facing me. Apparently, they had word of a felon in a pickup there...and police were all over him. No shots fired, thank goodness!! Had not see rifles like that since we left Alaska.
I left as soon as I could; they did a wonderful job of serving and protecting...and secured their guy quickly. Still shaking. |
Seems scary either way :-(

Why do such things always seem to happen at Wal-Mart? I would have hit the deck and prayed my socks off. Scary situation.
|
Oh that is scary!
|
Yikes. I would have been shaking in my boots. I'm glad they found him and arrested him. Yikes, I'm scared just hearing about it.

I so unaware of the situation until I seen the police uniform and the sniper gun..had loaded up our pickup and locked the doors. Men and women in uniform on the scene handled themselves well. They were about seven or eight cars up the lot from me.
No, its a peaceful town usually. In Corpus Christi, at 2 am in the morning, I heard the shotgun that killed a neighbor two doors down. And everyone carried in Alaska in the open. The first armed man through the air port doors with ammunition belts across his chest and carry a big game gun had me diving for the floor, but I got used to that. Mid West is usually quieter. |
