Please indulge a proud grandma. This is my 9-year-old DGD with her latest project. Now she is wanting a new machine. Apparently she isn't thrilled with using a 30+ year old machine.

That is super cute. Let the machine hunt begin :-)

I'm with Mamabear. How I wish I could have that kind of fun! Nothing wrong with wanting your own. She'll learn and find out she may still need to borrow yours.

She did well on her latest project. I can stuff a turkey but have never been able to stuff a toy!

That is adorable and big!!! newer machines can be soooo complicated and expensive with computers and all. Sometimes older machines are wonderful to use. Besides you can't have everything!

I love her project and I must ask - where did you get the pattern? Perhaps you can share that information with us - I think your grand daughter is a born sewer - its nice to pass on the skills to the younger generation.

Lovely! I wish my granddaughter were interested in sewing, but she is into so many activities her first year in HS that she doesn't have time, even if she were interested.

Same here and that one took a lot of stuffing. She did great.

She did do well!! And I'm with you - I can never do a decent job of stuffing a toy.

Karen G 11-14-2013 08:08 AM

Adorable! So, indulge her!

mrs. fitz 11-14-2013 08:33 AM

She's 9 and she made (and stuffed) that very large animal??? She's wonderful -- also pretty -- and IMO has earned a new machine. Hope Santa is listening. After years of sewing and quilting I still can't do a decent job of stuffing anything.

Jingle 11-14-2013 08:53 AM

Very cute DGD and she did a great job. I use to make smaller stuffed animals, dolls, etc.
I'm with her I prefer newer machines also. I regularly use to straight only machines. I save the older machines for back ups. I don;t have computer machines.

lillybeck 11-14-2013 09:12 AM

I can certainly see why you are proud
