Hello Everyone, oh boy it's been a while since I have visited. I am just getting back to my sewing and am looking for a foundation or paper piece for a rose pattern. I can't seem to find one. I am trying the, quilt as you go as I have sold my big quilter lol....so now I will have to change the way I quilt. The quilt as you go looks like fun, I watched some of it on you tube. So if anyone has info on a rose, please let me know.

Hi Rosy
welcome back! here is a quilt as you go scrappy rose youtube video you might like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QnUGzACjDw and another a bit different-it's raw edge rose of sharon applique-also a quilt as you go if you like, and also a youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEQhltgbGk4 Here is a fun one, but totally not paper pieced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfzYkAwS9yA also, there are some paper pieced patterns online- some free, some not. It's hard to suggest something without knowing the level of work you want to do. most have what looks to me like a zillion pieces.... here is one free version: https://lorikennedyquilts.com/the-ro...ieced-pattern/ and there is this: https://www.simplesimonandco.com/201...rns-make.html/ https://jitkadesign.blogspot.com/2016/10/rose.html and these https://ilovequiltingforever.com/bes...quilt-pattern/ and this....not really what you're looking for tho: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va9JMQ6pjFs here is another fun one-maybe QAYG, but totally not paper pieced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfzYkAwS9yA good luck! |
Thank you ladies, I did watch the youtube but wanted the actual paper to piece on lol. I will check the others out and the worst that could happen, I just have to do the video hahahahha. I can do any one of them really. thanks

Do you mean you want a paper pattern to sew on? Or you're looking for just the paper, and you print the pattern on it yourself?

Here is a link to roses that are paper pieced. https://www.paperpanache.com/product...-quilt-pattern
IF you mean you are looking for a quilting design printed on paper to follow, maybe search out a pantograph? |
If nothing else go to TenSisters. Its grid interfacing you use to create a pattern and she has a beautiful rose.

I have no specific suggestions but are you part of a quilting group? If so ask them. They may have a book/pattern sitting on their shelf gathering dust that wold meet what you are looking for. I would also suggest looking at your local library. They will often have sections on hand crafts including quilting and paper piecing specifically.

Paper Panache is my first stop for all paper piecing patterns because I trust them to work. Then I go to my handydandy search engine and type in "free paper piecing rose" (for your rose) to see what shows up. If I like something, I give it a try. If I don't like what I see, I take out the word "free" and search again for the perfect pattern for what I want. I hope you find the perfect rose and then show it to us when you finish putting it together! Welcome back to the board!
