My husband has this issue also and were recently tried some products from The Honey Guy http://www.thehoneyguy.com/ he is very impressed with the Bite Free Spray. I use the skin cream and it has really helped my feet.

The best thing I found for me is to get in the shower as soon as I come in from outside. Even mosquito bites don't welt up on me after I shower.

Neem's Herbal Spray. Available online, in many health food stores. Non-toxic, you can spray it on your dogs, which was why I got it in the first place. It keeps mosquitos, chiggars, ticks, etc at bay. It also stops the itching from them if you forget to spray it in the first place. For some reason, I attract ants, and I use it to run them the other direction. I have a bottle in my car, a couple in the house.

We were at a family reunion, and my cousin made the mistake of wandering thru the weeds. He was really chewed up with chiggar bites, and scratching himself silly. I told him try spraying this on his legs, and it stopped the itching. I know they also make a soap. I swear by it. AND....my dh cannot take anti-histamines, and he can use this.
