it looks like fall. I was just driving down a street near my house, and it looked like fall. Lots of dead brown leaves on the trees and the ground. We haven't had any rain since May. It's still over 100 degrees every day.....sheesh. Will it ever rain?!

You guys are really getting it! We finally had a couple of showers (short ones) here in Lubbock and things are looking a little better. Still under burn bans. This year they've even sent out info to football ticket holders about new guidelines for tailgating. I hope you get a little relief soon.

We have been in a drought here for months and only recently have received some relief. Now I may be on my way to get sandbags, local news is warning of 30 to 35 inches of rain with this tropical wave.

Every day I pray for rain for Texas. I sure wish we could have sent you some of the rain we got from Irene. The flooding here is as devastating and heartbreaking as the drought there. :-(

Last Thursday it rained for over 8 hours and dried up right the next day.
WE need more rain here in the Coastal Bend area.

Keep your fingers crossed - there's a tropical depression in the Gulf right now. Not sure which direction it's headed.

Yeh, think you are getting what we were praying for all week. Kept listening to the weather forecast all last week, and finally this morning, 'they' decided that tropical wave was going into Louisiana, not us. Glad someone is going to benefit from the rain it will bring.

I just related to DH the weather news on this thread -- he said we should count our blessings.

We are blessed that the storm passed to our west and that our temps are perfect. We feared that if Irene came to our east we would lose our 100 yr old oak trees would uproot and be destroyed.

My prayers go out to all of you who are having such a lot of difficulties

Mim

Looks like cooler weather is forcast for next week. If only it would rain.

I feel for you and all the others living through this. Living in rural OK has always been challenging, but this last year takes the cake. Keep praying!
