My Janome 6600 keeps losing the thread in the take up arm causing jambs. It is infuriating. The guy I bought it from said he could not recreate the problem and has not heard of it before. I askd the girls in my quilting group and they agree it happens to them as well but had no answer. Is anyone else having this problem and what have you done to fix it?

Try threading from left to right instead of right to left. I have a 6600 and haven't had that problem, but I've heard that others have and threading different seemed to solve it.

When I thread my 6600, the thread path on the top of the machine includes that flat rectangle thing.... Make sure when you thread that part, you hear a soft little 'click'. Don't just place your thread there, make sure it catches. That's my only suggestion. I don't have any problems with mine.

Thanks I will try these suggestions.

MY 6500 had the same problem and then dealer told me to make sure that when I pulled the thread into the take up arm until I am sure it is seated in there. I haven't had mine unthread since I got tough with it!
