That reminds me of when our youngest daughter was going to her first high school prom. I bought her a beautiful beaded long slinky red gown and it cost $200. A friend, with 4 sons, asked me what my husband said when I told him how much it cost. I told her that he was relieved when I told him that she really wanted a $400 dress - LOL

Hehehe, I see "that look" on my DH's face sometimes and I can tell he's wondering why on earth I need MORE fabric, but he doesn't say a word unless it's to point out a fabric or two that he particularly likes, and sometimes it's just to say something like, "Did you see they have a clearance rack?".
He's a very smart man! LOL He doesn't go to the fabric stores with me unless we're on vacation and stopping in somewhere on the road, though. He's wonderful and would go with me to the local shops if I asked him to, but I don't need to torture the man! He'll come along if I'm buying fabrics to make a gift for someone in his family and he'll help me pick things out for them, but otherwise it's my thing and I'm totally OK with that. It's too bad he's not into it, though, he has a REALLY good eye for color. |
The Sewing Basket quilt shop in Prosser, WA has a picture with a lady carrying a big bundle of fabric with those exact words. I took a pic of it because it was so cute!

Easter was our 23 Meeting Anniversary(DH & ME), He actually sent me a fabric gift card for the Quilt Shop of my choice. He goes with me to Quilt Shops as we actually love to create our own little shop hops. When in quilt shops I like to hand him the bolts to let him hold them. He is excellent at helping me pick out good coordinated colors. He also quilts and shops too sometimes for his manly quilts. We have so much fun together!!!

Great way to start the day out! Thanks

We're lucky to have such good guys. If it's a great sale, my husband will get in line to get the fabric cut as I select them; then, not so long to check out. Yep, he's a keeper too!

Mine goes with me; but it is a case of "have to" because I don't drive anymore. He sits in the car and works a puzzle or takes a nap when I have to go to Whittle's; but it is a case of "trade about" for the two of us--I ride with him to all his Dr's appts (usually take along a quilt to hem while I am waiting); and get lots of compliments and comments on what I am working on. Win-win for us.

I keep it simple - I don't have mine along with me when I go to a fabric shop.

My husband would look at me and say..."You forgot a few bolts of fabric on the shelf, now get back there and get them" :)
