this was so easy. It just takes a fat qtr, a dollar glass plate and Modge Podge (2.99) with a Joanns discount coupon and a sponge paint brush (they sell packages of them at the dollar store) I used a hair dryer to dry it in time for the game.

i remember all the fun of doing those!!!

I am off to the dollar store to get more...my son just saw the picture I posted on my facebook page and he call me and said...Mom...where's mine. LOL...I am using the fabric I bought for him for his quilt. This is too much fun!!

Looks neat! Do you just hand wash so the edge doesn't get scruffy?
|
they do say to hand wash. I am going to see if there is some type of clear glass spray that I could use that is water proof. I just bought all of the plates that they had at the dollar store. 15..hope they get more. They are made in Mexico

here is another...I wondered what I was going to do with this...I have two fat qtrs...two plates now for a Christmas Gift for one of the family members who loves the beatles.
|
that is real neat, Carol. do you apply/glue the right side of the fabric to the under side of the plate?
if you would use old or scratched up glass plates would that matter, make a difference? thanks for your tips. |
Very cool! :)

with a foam brush I modge podged the plate on the back side then placed on fabric. waited a few mins flipped it over used sewing shears cut round the rim. then flipped the plate back over and modge podged the back side covering the fabic and then with my fingers smoothed out any air bubbles. then dried. the modge podge dries clear. if the glass is scratched it may show the scratches. You can buy the plates new for a 1.00 at the dollar store. They are fun to make

Last year for Christmas I made several with Christmas fabric and added a pretty candle. I think they made a nice gift and I received compliments. I made one and painted the candle to coordinate with the fabric.

Everyone on here is so clever! Now I wanna try!

Glad my hubby doesn't read over my shoulder or I would be making a bunch of Green Bay Packer plates.

My sons have placed their order...I am surprised on how much they like them. I am making them one for each of their favorite sport . I am also going to check out on how much it will cost me to make them clocks with sport fabric.
