My husband decides to renovate my sewing room!!! In his infinite wisdom he decided I need a bigger room, which is wonderful....BUT...I am busy making blocks and I have projects laying out to work on!!!

When I pointed this out to him, he said no problem...he put plastic up around my sewing room so that he can rip walls out, put up new ones and it will not interfere with my creativity as he put it!! I feel like I am living in a bubble when I'm in there now!!! LOL

I am forever destined to live in a construction zone for the next few weeks! Could be interesting when he starts rewiring everything!! Yikes!!! lol

Good luck with the remodeling!!
And keep a long extension cord handy for when that electrical work starts  Sounds like it will be wonderful when finished, you just gotta hang in there.

At least he's thinking of you by wanting you to have a nice space!
So, does this mean MORE painting for you? lol

Shadow Dancer 09-21-2009 05:41 AM

Noooo I am NOT painting anymore!! Because in order to paint, it would mean I have to do the mud on the drywall seams and I refuse! LOL

MollieSue 09-21-2009 05:48 AM

Oh -Good for you!!!!! A bigger room!!!!! How wonderful of him!! :D :D

Since it was his idea, I would be assuming he planned on doing mudding and painting too!  lol!!!!

Shemjo 09-21-2009 06:09 AM

Congratulations, I think! I know what you are in for, but the results should be wonderful. As long as he lets you work in the bubble, enjoy!

Lisanne 09-21-2009 06:14 AM

We want to see pictures of your plastic bubble! And of course we'll want to see pictures of the finished room, too.

Maride 09-21-2009 06:15 AM

You never stop a man who wants to give you a bigger sewing room. It keeps him busy. You are soooo lucky!

Here here!

LOL Hug him for us...then tell him not to squelch the creativity! Some of us have a bad habit of living vicariously through other quilter's awesomeness, we shall go into withdrawl!! And yep...we want bubble pics...before pics...and after pics! We're greedy like that ya know

kwhite 09-21-2009 06:46 AM

Yes we just finished this little project this spring. It is a long and difficult process but the results are wonderful. Drywall dust though goes everywhere. I would get a large supply of plastic bags for all of your stuff. Even behind plastic walls it will get dusty.

amma 09-21-2009 08:19 AM

Wow!!! and it was DH suggestion??? He's a definite keeper :D :D :D

billswife99 09-21-2009 09:17 AM

Oh I feel for you with all the mess! But it is always worth it in the end. I'm still sewing in the kitchen so I envy your new space!

Mousie 09-21-2009 04:32 PM

all this talk of dust, has me scratching my nose
Well, Maride has a good point...don't hinder a man that wants to give you a bigger sewing room!
I have a lot of stuff in my cave, but I have to be able to see all around me...you probably feel like one of those cubicle workers!
Can't wait to see the 'after'. :D

littlehud 09-21-2009 06:41 PM

That's sweet of him and interesting for you. I'm sure it will be wonderful when he is done.

Cathy M 09-23-2009 08:13 AM

We'll just call you 'bubble girl' or 'girl in the bubble'. I think both of those titles were movies hahahhaha.

Jim's Gem 09-23-2009 08:22 AM

That's really sweet of your Husband to want to give you a bigger better sewing space. I'm sorry that will make sewing right now, not so fun, but He is thinking of you and wanting to do something for you!!!
Tell him that it would be really really special if he did all the mud work and painted the walls the color you want for you!!!

sewjoyce 09-24-2009 07:30 AM

Awwww, that's so sweet of him to think you need a bigger sewing room (which, of course, you do!). Good luck with the renovations :D :D

sandpat 09-25-2009 05:49 AM

Well, doesn't everybody need a bigger sewing room???? How lucky you are...just think, all the bubbles will disappear and that beautiful new room will emerge and you'll soon forget about all the inconvenience...at least thats what they tell me...

bearisgray 09-25-2009 06:03 AM

It would be nice if it could go from "thinking about" to "done" and skip all the mess in the middle.

Will he help you stow everything so it doesn't get dusty?

joannl 09-26-2009 02:40 PM

So my first thought was - when aren't you working on a project?! LOL! With all the great things we see from you, you must always be under construction (quilts I mean, not walls!)
Congrats on the new space to be.

Jo
