Ok now think twice about the red pepper. This is a very crewl way to deal with any animal. Good luck with your seedlings.

Lemon or orange peels (fresh) are supposed to keep them away. They don't care for citrus.

I actually had to put chicken wire around all of mine. They would either eat or sit, or dig up all of mine!

I had thought about putting some sort of covering over the wire sheving unit, but mom is so paranoid about something overheating and setting something on fire that I don't think that would be feasible (ah the joys of still living at home). Plus it could actually be a fire hazard either way.

Citrus peels should do the trick. However you'll need to refreshen every few days. Happy gardening.
