Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio Tornado

Praying, and have fingers and toes crossed, that everyone in the path of these tornadoes is safe.

patski 03-02-2012 02:58 PM

Me too, Ihope they will all be safe, I've been thinking about Judie Riggen (from this board) and is from Joplin that was hit so badly last year and hope all stay safe

aronel 03-02-2012 03:17 PM

I am also praying for their safety, I have many relatives in southern Ohio, and northeast Kentucky.

gollytwo 03-02-2012 03:25 PM

Just called a friend in Cincinnati as the TV was saying it was in the path
She said not, heavy rain and thunder though.

boxerlady 03-02-2012 04:20 PM

There has been a lot of damage in the Chattanooga, TN area-storms with tornadic activity are all over the place.

amandasgramma 03-02-2012 04:38 PM

I was in northern Alabama/near Chatanooga last May just a few days after that tornado killed 8 people. I saw the intersection that was torn up. I canNOT imagine living thru that.....the fear. My heart goes out to all and praying for everyone's safety!

Just found out all mine are fine. Now worried aboutfolk in Western NC. SuperCell headed to Waynesville

Sheila_H 03-02-2012 05:34 PM

Unfortunately when you live in those states along with OK you know spring as the start of tornado season. I survived through 4 major tornado's in OKC including the F5 that took out Stroud. I saw all the devastation on CNN earlier I pray for all those families, I know the terror that fluids you when those siren's go off.

EllieGirl 03-02-2012 06:26 PM

I live in Louisville. Just across the Ohio River, about 15 miles north of us, two towns were completely leveled. At this time between Kentucky and Indiana, 15 people are dead. A mother and two babies are among the dead. The tornado was 1/2 mile wide. The storms were north of us, and just south of us, about 10 miles. We were very fortunate.

seam-ripper-sue 03-02-2012 06:46 PM

I live about one hour south of Lexington KY, in Laurel county, and a tornado touched down just a little north of us, in East Bernast. No word of how much damage yet. We took shelter in a neighbors' basement. No damage in our neighborhood.

Wow so glad to hear your okay I know earlier this evening on CNN they were talking about a possible F5 in one area. It is the only thing I don't miss about living in OK. Our thoughts and prayer's go out to everyone in those areas tonight, I truly hope most folks were able to take shelter in time.

the people who are in the path of those storms are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm originally from KS (& also lived in OK for several) years & to this day, the thought of tornadoes makes me shudder. I'm sending nothing but good thoughts to all the folks under severe weather tonight. Boy... it sure seems to be starting early this year!

elseebee 03-03-2012 07:11 AM

We had a rough night in western NC last night, but damage doesn't seem too bad. Now we have snow scheduled to fall on all our spring flowers that are in bloom!

NancyBelly 03-03-2012 12:48 PM

We lost three people in my area....it was a rough ride yesterday.

Contact the Red Cross, they'll find them for you.

Prayers go out to all who have had to deal with an impact from these storms. So much destruction and lives lost. So terrible.

Grandma Peg 03-03-2012 07:02 PM

So sad, way too much devastation. Prayers.

Patchworkmarion 03-03-2012 09:22 PM

Where in Indiana was the tornado? I have a dear friend in Clarksville.
Thinking of everyone in the area.

Dodee 03-04-2012 05:10 AM

It's amazing how the news media keeps missing Tennessee. Guess it wasn't large enough. A loss is a loss.

SunlitenSmiles 03-04-2012 05:28 AM

news here showed all of Tennessee in path for direct hit by several......I was praying hard for Tennessee and for it's border states all around........This is so much scarrier than an earthquake

Dizzy Dolly 03-04-2012 06:07 AM

Clarksville is about 20 miles south of Henryville where lots of damage occurred, she is probably ok. Nearly every building in Henryville and Marysville was damaged. Fourteen deaths in Indiana - 38 in the 3 state area according to reports.

Clarksville is fine. It's right on the river and Henryville is several miles north of that.

EllieGirl 03-04-2012 08:52 AM

We went to our favorite winery yesterday and it's probably 2-3 miles from Henryville. The owner said it came so close to them the ground shook and they could hear the trees breaking off!! He was very quiet yesterday and I'm sure he was thinking how close it was for his winery and farm, in their family for over 100 years, to have been totally destroyed.

I feel so bad for those people. The stories are horrible. A toddler was found by herself in a field. Her entire family was killed and she is in critical condition. Another family had their four year old son sucked out of their arms. There are 2-3 families where everyone was killed. Now to make it harder, the temperatures have dropped and it's snowing! We're supposed to get a couple inches tonight.

milikaa1 03-04-2012 09:29 AM

I was glued to the tv watching and it was so scary, all you could do is pray and still pray. I could not imagine living through that, we have earthquakes and fires here but does not seem to be as scary. My friends daughter was in the basement at Belmont, my dad lives in Jackson Co WV and was in the direct path of a tornado but was lucky enough to have been spared. I pray for all that have been hurt and impacted by the tornadoes.

fayza 03-04-2012 10:42 AM

I live about 20 miles outside of West Liberty,KY the town literally does NOT exsist anymore. 5 miles from my home (traveling towards West Liberty) there is about 20 homes leveled (a few had the roofs torn off, and 2 doublewide trailers were split and moved) This is all so unreal. I had never saw anything like this with my own eyes before (only on tv, and pictures) Myself and others were very blessed to have not been hit by this. I'm amazed I even have power with all the power lines down. Phone, cable and internet was just restored at my house yesterday evening. This is a sad, devasting time for my neighbors :(

g mom 03-08-2012 06:29 AM

Tornadoes are to be taken very seriously. I have seen too much damage from. Only God knows why we have them.
