My Dentist of over 30 years has called me and asked me to go to his parents home 3 times a week. He says light housework, grocery shopping, maybe some ironing and cook them a meal. Only 3 days a week. He says he will feel better cause he knows me. But I've never done this before, I hope I don't let anyone down. I hope I'm not sorry I accepted, but it's nice to be needed. What do you think, what can I cook for them? But in a nice kitchen, hmmm. who knows?? 8-)

You will probably do great! Best to ask them what kind of stuff they like to eat, & what they definitely don't like, then you can vary it from there... Also, if they are on any kind of special diet. I bet they will be glad to have you & look forward to your visits. Good luck & let us know how it goes!...

Thanks! That is exactly why I posted, because I needed support. I'm used to visiting at someones home, not up doing things for them...I just need a list. I will be meeting them tomorrow at 10am with the Dentist

Might want some clarification of what is expected of you -

What is their definition of "light housework"?
Hours?
Grocery shopping - pick them up and take them? or go to the store by yourself?

And what you expect from them -

Compensation?
Will you be treated as an employee and the money earned as taxable income?
Mileage?

I'm sure that this will evolve as you get to know their needs better.

You will do Great! It's nice the he thought of you and i am sure he has every confidence that they will love having you! Just ask questions and it will be a nice relationship for you and them.

And if you suspect they might have a dog or cat, pick up a treat for each one.

That little thing might be the very one that will make them feel at ease, knowing that you like animals.
