I have a Sony E-Reader and the Nook and love them both. Didn't think I would because I love to have the BOOKS in my hand-must be the smell of paper or something? It is easy to download to both systems.

I have the same Kindle version you have. The switch is on the bottom edge. Just push it to the right for a couple of seconds and it will go off. I always turn mine off. I've read two and one half books and have not had to charge it since I first got it.
The users manual on the Kindle website is really good. Verna in So Cal |

Not sure about this, but if you plan to download library books, check with library 1st. Not all of them offer E Reader service. Ours doesn't & due to money crunch, has no plans to.

I have been considering a Kindle and I'm happy to find this conversation going on! Everyone says the battery lasts a long time, which is certainly a great selling point. What actually comes with the Kindle? Does a charger come with it? And do you have buy a car charger?
