A Kindle Question
 

I hope this question is ok for me to ask....I just bought the Kiindle Touch and I was wondering if there are any free site to download books? I'm not trying to cheat, I just thought if there was such a site, I'd love to find it. I have searched for 4 days and I can't figure out any. I'm really only interested in 2 authors....Debbie Macomber and Jennifer Chiaverini books, that's all I read these days. If anybody can help me, I will be so grateful. Thanks so much.....Wendy

There are lots of free books out there...on Amazon's own site, you can find free Kindle books. Usually they're just free for a short time and then they revert to being paid downloads. However, I do not think you'll ever find free books by Macomber or Chiaverini-they are both so popular that there's no need to offer free books in order to entice new readers.

Have you reguistered your Kindle? When you do you will get lots of information. Go to Amazon.com, Search-Kindle books, they do have some free and low priced books, Happy hunting, hope this helps

Pixel of Ink is the site I use a lot

I use Pixel of Ink too. All the free Kindle books are listed there several times a day. Usuallly most are free just for a few hours but there are many available everyday for free. I seldom buy books for my Kindle. You probably got a free month of Amazon Prime when you bought the Kindle and you can borrow books from Amazon Lending Library using your Prime account. You have to register your Kindle using any credit/gift card that has an exp. date to be able to download books and apps for free.

I have a KF and I just go to books, type in free and get all kinds of books. I also get books from the public library, they had a couple of classes on how to download them onto the kindles. I can get them for 21 days which is more than enough for me to read a book. I have had mine since Christmas and have read about 10 books so far.

You can also google "free books for kindle" and it will give you a list. Enjoy them while they are free.

also ck your library. you can download a book on loan.

I get an e-mail every day from ereaderiq.com listing all the free books available for Kindle. Not sure how long they stay free. I've had the Kindle almost a year and haven't bought a book yet - except one by accident.;) You can sign up for the e-mail and choose what kind of books you are interested in.

i just go to amazon.com and they have a lot of free books. go to kindle books free.
and some are only .99 cents. i put about 5 at time on the kindle and read them and then put more on.

When you are at amazon.com if you type in the search box 0.00 you will get a long list of free Kindle books too.

check out booksontheknob.org they offer freebies for kindle, nook, epub and sometimes audiobooks.

there ae a lot of free books from amazon, there are also a lot of free games !!! my grandkids loaded some games to play , the games come in handy to play while waiting at appointments and believe it or not i can play most of them !!

I do the same thing. You can use your library account to find books. They helped me at the library to get started.

Your public library is a fantastic resource for free books. I read an average of 2 books a week and haven't yet paid for one. In fact, I just finished Explosive Eighteen/Janet Evanovich from my library.

Try your public library. Ours has lots of books on line. I just got a kindle fire this week. I am only disappointed that there are not a lot quilting books or any that I have found free.

From a drop down list, you can pick out your local library where your card is registered and then browse their database by authors, titles, subject, all kinds of stuff - and can download a library loan for up to 21 days. For some books you might have to place a hold like you do at a physical library to get in line for it but there are thousands of books out there to borrow. This started about Sept of last year and is really neat! After you have read the book, you just push the button to electronically return it to the library - or if the expiration date comes first, it will automatically be returned and you would need to check it out again, great invention!!!

I also use Pixel of Ink. However, there's another site for Christian books or clean reading called Inspired Reads. there's another one named Kindle Nation also. I belong to several of these on Facebook, but I also get the daily email that's a digest of everything offered. Yes, indeed, there are sometimes Debbie Macomber books offered. Just this week they offered Call Me Mrs. Miracle for free. I also love to read Amish fiction and there are occasionally free Amish fiction books as well. What is true about the free books is that Amazon offers the first one in a series sometimes to get you interested in that author so you'll buy the rest of the series. I have had my Kindle for about 8 months and have already downloaded over 650 books; with only about 5 being ones I purchased. Often there will be books offered for a reduced price, like $1.99 or $2.99, which is a bargain!! Good Luck!

ereaderiq.com has free kindle books. I check it all the time. Also amazon.com and look for the kindle sight and under it click on free books

I found a site called bookrooster.com and they will send you books to review. You write a review of about 100 words. You have a voice of whether you want to read the book or not, and whether you want to write the review. In all honesty, I have written only one review and I've been getting the books since last May.

Enter the search parameter, $0.00 when you're searching for free books. Entering the word FREE also includes listings with the word FREE in the title.

I too, use pixelsofink. You sign up for the daily email. You get it every afternoon. I've downloaded many books from there. They aren't best selling authors, but the books are good. If I get one and start reading it, find that it just doesn't keep my interest, I just delete it. It didn't cost anything, so why waste my time reading it if I don't really like it. I have read many, many good free books from there.

Talking about Kindle. Can any one tell me if it is true that when travelling by Air and going through security check out that it can clean off your Kindle. I was hoping to take mine with me when we go to USA this year but if thats the case wouldn't trouble. Thanks in advance
