Kindle story

I bought my mom a Kindle for Christmas in 2010, purchased through Amazon. Later in the year she went on a trip and ended up leaving the Kindle on the plane. I contacted Amazon and had the Kindle blacklisted, noted as lost so no one could purchase on the account. Well, yesterday I received an email from Amazon informing me the Kindle had been returned to them. I was just AMAZED. It's so nice to be reminded there are honest people in the world. I called Amazon and after an hour on the phone, it was determined that they were not going to be able to locate our Kindle, (even with the red case it was in LOL). They had never run into this situation before. But they did refund me the entire purchase price! Amazon was so helpful and great customer service.

Wow! That is such good service. I have always been amazed at how easy it is to get books from Kindle. This situation gives me even more confidance in Amazon.

That's great! I love Amazon. I buy most of my gifts from there, skin care, lotions, toys for the grandkids, and of course kindle books. My daughter left a nook on a plane. Of course she never heard anything back from the airline.

That is great. My friend has only had her Kindle for one year and it "died". She called to see what can be done about it but they only offered to give her a tiny discount on a refurbished one if she sent her's back. Afterwards she realized that she can be reading all her books on her Ipad now. She wasn't too happy with the outcome of her conversation with them.

I got my Kindle last Sept. & love it BUT I wished I'd spent more to get one that lights up, that way u can read in the dark. I download free books & puzzle games from Amazon.

Amazon is amazing! I had my Kindle with me in the hospital after I had to have emergency surgery. One night I dropped it off the bed and cracked the corner. It was 2 months out of warranty but when I contacted Amazon about ordering a new Kindle, they sent me a brand new one free of charge and a postage-paid box to return my old one to them. The service is fantastic! I support them and feel good about recommending them to anyone!

I love Amazon. They ship so fast. I have a kindle and if I have a problem I contact them and they call me right back and can usually help me fix it in that phone call. Bought my Brother serger from them also. They're always so helpful, service is great and their prices are good.

The ones that light up take a lot of power, and you have to recharge often.

I bought the extra warranty for my Kindle Fire. If lost, stolen, dropped, left in the rain, dog ate it, whatever I get a new Kindle Fire. I don't know if that warranty is still offered but it wasn't much at all. DH has the older Kindle keyboard and loves it. He has the lighted book cover that does not take batteries but run from the Kindle. His Kindle stays charged for weeks.

I'm confused. Did they get the Kindle or not?

At any rate, you seem to be happy with your outcome, so congratulations! I wonder if it's possible yet to track a Kindle. I know if my iPad or iPod is ever lost or stolen, I can easily locate it.

outstanding, I will be more likely to shop with them now. Thanks for sharing.

Wow you are so lucky, amazon was not so concerned about the kindle we found in the parking lot of the cancer center. I called them after we found the kindle and got it charged up so I could find the owners name, on two occasions they told me they could not help, I should take it to the local police station. I was shocked, I asked them to send the owner an email to contact me and they would not even do that. Ended up putting up information at tyhe cancer center (they were more helpful than amazon) could have been a patient or friend of a patient. Ended up taking it to the local police. So if the owner asked about it at the cancer center, they could go to the station and claim the kindle. Hope they did!

I have found that if one rep doesn't seem to help, hang up and call until you get a rep that actually doea something. This is true for any business. It never fails I eventually find one that has some common sense.
