Are most of you saying Kindle readers because of price? I have been thinking about one and if price $$$ is no problem what would you pick....

I have a Kindle and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It goes with me wherever I go! Best investment I ever made!

Unless you are going to need to use it to view magazines that are in color or store your pictures on it that you want to view in color, you don't need color. I use mine for reading books and sometimes I get on FB with it, but not very often. Those things don't require color, so I don't really need color to do what I want to do. BTW, Kindles are now $114. Great buy!

I bought the Kindle because it had the best ratings. Charge is supposed to last longer. I got the $114 one. You get advertisement on it and that's why it's cheaper but it's only on the screen saver. it doesn't affect the reading page at all. It's a $25 savings.

I got the second listed one - $139 with advertising because it was $50 cheaper than the $189 without advertising - Nice to hear that as they say it will not be "overwhelmed" with advertising (still awaiting its arrival). I was influenced by apparent ease of use and downloading, and because I trust Amazon, and it appears they are right on top of upgrades, price was the frosting on the cake for me.

Love, love, love my Kindle. It is great for traveling. I used to travel with a bag of books, now I just have to take my Kindle. I can even upload books on trip.

I adore my Kindle. I had to give up reading, except for craft books, because my vision is so screwed up. Kindle fixed that. You can adjust the spacing of the type and adjust the size instantly, making it easy to read. The screen also doesn't have the glare the other products have, which also helps.

The only caveat is that most library systems that offer ebooks are not yet Kindle compatible. However, since they have almost no offerings in my preferred genres (sci fi/fantasy ex), that's not an issue for me. A lot more people I know have the Nook or the Sony and they are perfectly happy with them (no vision issues). I've been told that Sony handles .pdf files better than Kindle. Nook is the only color one on the market just now, although I though I heard Sony was putting one out as well. Not a big deal for me, but is if you want children's books.

You CAN load .pdf files on the Kindle, but they are not as adjustable as I'd hoped they'd be. Hoping to fix that.

edited to add: even if price wasn't an issue, I'd still stick with Kindle because it is so much easier to deal with when you have vision problems. If your eyesight is really good, then I'd pick the one that best handles .pdf files. Also, ebooks will not replace craft books or even most cooking books, because you can't fit all the info on one page and still read it.

I have a nook, the black and white, and love it. I ride on the back of my DH's Harley and love it for reading then. Especially on long rides.

I have recently purchased the Lookbook powered by Kobo. It was on sale a CVS for $50.00. My DBL showed me his when we were visiting and it does all I need it to do. I have already read 4 books on it in less than a month! There are lots and lots of free books that I doubt I will ever need to purchase any lol.
