For kitten/cat lovers….
 

Kitten

Scratches on my forearms, cat toys on the chair,
Now what’s that on my black pants?
No sweat - it’s only hair

She tests my patience daily,
with billigerence at its peak;
How will I cope another day,
survive another week?

I know she’s just a kitten,
but my choice is very clear;
I need to get control somehow.
Who is the master here?

Oh wait! She’s lying still right now,
her sleepy eyelids low;
Her whiskers twitch in deepest dreams
of chasing rodent foes.

How could this be the same kit,
this angel just asleep?
With a face so sweet and peaceful,
whose bites can raise a shriek.

Oh dear, how I do love her,
her devotion seems so clear;
I guess I’ll keep her one more day,
or maybe one more year!
