Knitting

I am a beginner at knitting! I am looking for an easy pattern for a triangle shawl. Can't find a free one on line and also looked at books, but no luck. Books are way too expensive anyway
Can anyone help me?

This is the first one I ever made: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...-border-medium

It uses a bulky yarn and works up fairly quickly.

I suggest going to www.ravelry.com. You have to create an account, but it's free. You can then search for patterns of all kinds and you can enter all kinds of "qualifiers," such as yarn size, free patterns versus paid, etc.

You might be able to find books in your library.

singalong, have you watched any of these videos? https://www.google.ca/search?q=how+t...FNDqoASa-oCoBQ

I would cast on one stitch increase to three each side. Increase at beginning then a end of every row until desired length. Same as small squares. The paper brand around the wool will give you a good idea of needle size.

Do you know there's a knitting/crochet board called Knitting Paradise? Not certain but it mightl be the sister board to QB. In fact, it is set up just like QB used to be before the big change. You may find the ideas and help you're looking forward, plus meet a lot of new friends.

I have found a lot of patterns here too. http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/index.php

I've been in a knitting jag lately making circular baby blankets from the center out.
