Thanks so much for sharing this video. Beautiful animals and I'm so happy they are now free.

I saw a bit of it on t.v. just now. so cute. like human babies touching grass with their feet for the first time. poor doggies. they are going to good homes now. i worry about their future health though, having been medical test dogs.

My last 3 beagles are from the lab.

Yooper32 12-02-2011 01:51 AM

There is nothing quite like sitting at you computer at something after 4 am crying your eyes out. The poor things couldn't even walk right after being caged all their lives. Just breaks your heart.

My DH and I take in rescue dogs and we now have 11. It is difficult at our age but they are like family. We have a black beagle/lab mix. His name is tripper. He earned the name because he will run up to you and plop down right in front of your feet while you are walking. We love them all.

Some do have problems, but they are heros and should be treated as such. They are very sweet and special dogs.

I could not help but shed a few tears over this one. They are so sweet. I guess if I could afford it I would have a dozen or two of animals/

How exciting for a Beagle to get out in the world with wonderful smells to investigate. You're right, I was in tears, too. Some of their backs looked a little fragile, but they are young enough to gain strength. No jumping for these guys/gals. My furgirls are both rescues, though not from a lab situation.

I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY WOULD DO SUCH A THING TO AN ANIMAL WHO HAS NO SAY SO,WHY DON'T THEY USE WIFE BEATERS ,MURDERS,CHILD MOLESTERS,THAT WOULD BE BETTER OFF IN A CAGE INSTEAD OF WALKING AROUND LOOKING FOR THE NEXT VICTUM NOT USING GODS NON TALKING CREATURES.WE NEED TO TAKE A STAND NOW.

so happy tp hear that they are free

Thanks for posting. Maybe the reality of becoming a "lab rat" would be a deterrent for human beings who commit reprehensible crimes.
They are such sweet pups, who would not want to just cuddle them?

This was especially hard to watch. I lost my dear dog, CoCo to cancer last week and am still feeling weepy. I think it is especially cruel to use animals that by nature put there trust in humans as experiments. A little more time to grieve and I will be ready to adopt again. This is certainly a place I will look. Thanks for sharing.

They are beautiful.
I was raised with beagles.
My Dad was a hunter.
It is sad to see this, ours were always loved and played with instead of babys dolls by me and my 2 sisters.

We had rescued Silky Terriers for 16 years. They were so precious and such a joy..and now always missed. I would always choose a rescued pet and would have another except my DDIL is alergic to dogs..no more dogs for me...just the Peach now. (he was also rescued)

This is a lovely story. Thank you so much for sharing. Their eyes are so soulful, I think they understand the humans that they adopt, as much as the humans hope to understand them!
