Can't cancel land line here. I have digital phone with bundle with Cable and Internet. If I cancel phone part they up the price on the rest and it would end up costing me more.

We are at the same place as you. Trying to figure out whether to give up the home phone or not. Our problems seems to be that I leave my cell phone in my purse most of the time, and really can't hear it if it rings unless I am close to the laundry room, where I keep my purse. My daughter and her family gave up their land line and she says they haven't missed it at all. I sure want to try it.

WANT to get rid of landline
SCARED to get rid of it.

Just the other day for the very first time AT&T cell phones were down because of stormy weather. Rumor has it the tower was knocked down. I picked up the landline and called close family members to make sure they were ok and tell others we were ok and without cell phones.

Now I really don't know what to do.

I am the same way. We keep a land line for power outages. Our others are cordless and my cell is for emergencies. My kids tease be about that. They can't live without their cells. Two still have cordless and two cell only.

Gave up land line for two cell phones. BUT, go to skype.com and sign up your friends for a FREE video chat anytime anywhere, and don't use up your cell phone minutes. (i don't have internet on my cell though)

I have been without a land line for about 8 yrs. I do not miss it nor sending the bill in!

the other thing is with the new fancy land line phones they do not work if you have a power outage. I live in an area where this happens frequently.

no telemarketers sure is nice.

Make sure you have a good phone with your provider and you will be happy.

I'm not a phone person we still have a landline phone my husband has a cell and I do have one for when I in the car so if I brake down I have away to get help. I won't be one of those people who are rude and talking on their phone. I don't want to hear whats going on in their life and I don't think I need to be always there for every call.

I gave up my LandLine about 2 years ago.
No problems with that.

Then a friend gave me a MagicJack, that is plugged into
the computer, it cost $19.95 per year, and that works very well.

The only drawback is the computer must always be "ON".
But I turn it off at night because anyone that needs me
has my cell for the night (emergency use). J J

I'm thinking about giving ours up only because I primarily use it for business and I took the phone number off my website because people call me at 4:00 am. Yup. $30 a month adds up. $360 plus taxes. Now if I could only train my sisters to just use my cell.

I haven't had a land line in at least 5-6 years. My mom makes me laugh because she said the only reason she keeps her land line is to call her cell phone to find out where it is. LOL
