I have a burning desire to create some large fabric flowers from my stash of material! I have tried to find a pattern on google images without success. Have any of you creative people ever made flowers or come across a pattern? I look forward to hearing from you.

No pattern, but my mother made large fabric flowers years ago. She made the stems and outlined the petals and leaves using extra-long pipe cleaners (they call them something more politically correct now). She'd bend them into teardrop or heart shapes for each petal and cut the fabric to that shape, then I guess glue them together. I don't actually remember - I'm surprised I didn't pay more attention or that she didn't invite me to make them with her, but it was more her own thing.

Do you want applique or freestanding flowers?

Here is a link for some:

Yep, that is the best link. All kinds of good things. I do the flowers to dress up straw purses/totes in the summer.

Wow that a great site. Thanks.
Good luck on your flower makings. Would love to see what you make

Do you mean for decorating purses or as pillows? I found a neat pattern online and made a few of them. One of my sisters asked for one to raffle off at her Moose lodge in Bakersfield, for charity. Said it brought in a lot more than she or I had thought it would.

They do take a lot of time and lots of poly batting, but are lovely things.
