I TRULY DID NOT KNOW THIS!

Las Vegas Churches accept gambling chips.

THIS MAY COME AS A SURPRISE TO THOSE OF YOU NOT LIVING IN LAS VEGAS , BUT THERE ARE MORE CATHOLIC CHURCHES THAN CASINOS.

NOT SURPRISINGLY, SOME WORSHIPERS AT SUNDAY SERVICES WILL GIVE CASINO CHIPS RATHER THAN CASH WHEN THE BASKET IS PASSED.

SINCE THEY GET CHIPS FROM MANY DIFFERENT CASINOS, THE CHURCHES HAVE DEVISED A METHOD TO COLLECT THE OFFERINGS.

THE CHURCHES SEND ALL THEIR COLLECTED CHIPS TO A NEARBY FRANCISCAN MONASTERY FOR SORTING AND THEN THE CHIPS ARE TAKEN TO THE CASINOS OF ORIGIN AND CASHED IN.

THIS IS DONE BY THE CHIP MONKS.

I love, love, love Las Vegas. I lived there for about a year and a half. My daughter was born in the hospital on Nellis AFB. It's one of my favorite places to live and visit.

What amused me most was seeing the slot machines on the back of the doors in the toilet stalls in Las Vegas...a new slant on "spending a penny". Even more amusing - me walking onto the plane with my jackpot winnings from said machine, swinging between my legs as it was wrapped up in my skirt like a treasure sack. The stewardess had a wry smile and said,"Happens all the time m'am..."

Didn't see it coming is right. I laughed so hard I called my husband to read it.
